  • Chillin Sundays.. What went down?

Thread about relaxing Sundays before the working week..

I made home made Spring rolls, with a cool and cleansing Ale then ate and had a few more Ales while watching the sunset over distant hills accompanied by a bit of Fleetwood mac..

5 hr train trip from Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo, checked in at hotel, offered a glass of wine at check in then steered towards a wine tasting and nibbles out on a lovely terrace, beautiful cheese scones along with a beautiful chardonnay, followed by a nice but sweet pinot then a nice cab sav, then just spent an hour in the pool and now getting ready for dinner.

Started yesterday getting home from the local club 2am with mates after going to the game. Caught a band and copped a serve from a chick wearing a Penrith top when I suggested they got lucky

Spent yesterday afternoon with Daughter....went to botannical gardens n then went out to the Parramatta RSL in the golden west for dinner.

Yep, I am , thanks mate, will be nice to be able to unpack for a few days once in San Fran, the little trip/tour between LA and San Fran has been good but only one night in two different towns so not worth unpacking. Going to explore Monterey and Carmel today before getting into San Fran tonight.

I'm so excited for you as you are now heading into my favourite part of the world. I'm going to the library on Saturday to get some new guide books as I like to read them on the bus as opposed to blindly just reading all those travel websites.

Can't wait to catch up with you when you get back..

I won't open the book until Sunday. Is that ok with you? What's with all the bossy men on this forum lately...telling me what phone to buy, when I can or cannot read a book. You all need to take a chill pill before tomorrow night..the offseason is going to be very very long on this place..specially if there is no silverware to celebrate...

Sounds awesome. California is such a great place and Monterey is a beautiful town. Carmel is also a beautiful place (most famous probably for Clint Eastwood being it's former mayor).

Yes Monterey is a beautiful town, wish I could have spent more time there.
Yes too about Carmel, Clint Eastwood was the mayor and still lives only a few miles away but also Doris Day is still a resident and owns a hotel there which was really charming and I had a glass of veuve cliquot there, it was real treat.

Staying right at Union Square, wow, I was warned about the homeless people and beggars around by people who have travelled here over the last few years and they were right, very sad to see, all around everywhere. Still an amazing city to see so far and doing a tour of Alcatraz tomorrow and hoping to spend a day in Golden Gate park at sometime . A friend took us on a tour down to the Castro district tonight, had a wonderful seafood meal, by far the nicest meal I have had over here so far.

Make sure you spend some time in Golden Gate Park. It is spectactular. I also highly recommend the North Beach district if you get a chance. It is an Italian district with awesome restaurants, cafes and one of the best bookstores in the world, City Lights. Last time I was there I actually met Lawrence Ferlinghetti, the owner and one of the last surviving Beat writers. Be sure to have a drink in Vesuvio's next door.
