How can I read it when it's only Thursday and I'm not going to the library until Saturday...?

It is an Italian district with awesome restaurants, cafes and one of the best bookstores in the world, City Lights. Last time I was there I actually met Lawrence Ferlinghetti, the owner and one of the last surviving Beat writers. Be sure to have a drink in Vesuvio's next door.
Did a quick 3 hr tour of the city to get my bearings today and the driver was waxing lyrical about the North Beach area, it looked a nice area also when we drove through, will be going back to have another look, the tour finished off at Fishermans Wharf , while it is a tourist trap of sorts it was still quite pleasant, ended up staying there for a few hours because had a night tour of Alcatraz booked, it was like it was on cue, beautiful clear day, had an amazing clear skies when at the Golden Gate Bridge but when boarding the ferry to Alcatraz at 5.30pm the fog rolled in, so eerie and amazing. Looking forward to doing more exploring on foot over the next few days, this city is totally amazing in so many ways.

Caught some nice 1-2kg yellow belly last night after a pig hunt[great eating], A bit of dirt bike riding this morn followed by an afternoon of out more doors enjoying camp oven cooked Fish with garlic lemongrass and papricka, lemon, salt, whilst listening to a few tunes, downing a few Ales and watching the sun go down.
          Its good to be King!

It's also nice to be Queen of one's la de da castle! I'm going over to Vaucluse Ocean Seafoods to get some lunch later, recommended to me by stsae and Mickey Lane. Going to listen to some Sting, Springsteen and Bonnie Raitt and enjoy this sunny day..

Great so far thanks buddy. I borrowed the Eyewitness Travel guide to San Francisco and Northern California. I haven't been to San Fran since 2003 and Cali since 2007, so there are lots of changes. I'm reading the history of the gold rush and first earthquakes. I'm a bit of a female George Costanza so am really interested in the Victorian houses, which we toured last time, including the house used in Mrs Doubtfire RIP Robin Williams . We are going back to do the same walking tour again but the new places I want to see this time around so far are the Palace of Fine Arts & and Haas-Lilienthal House. I'm only on the first chapter..

I also have The Lonely Planet for Seattle but I'll read that next week. I'm really interested in the music tours both cities hold as well, as there were many artists to come out of both cities. The grunge movement of course too, Amazon as I love internet shopping and of course, Frasier Crane..I'm listening..

San Fran just gets in your head, it is such an amazing city, been tracking over the city the last couple of days, seen so much, Alcatraz was amazing especially going across in the fog, the Castro district just great, went to see Macondrey place which was Barbary Lane in Tales Of The City, touring spots of some of my favourite movies based in San Fran [The Towering Inferno, Whats Up Doc, Milk amongst others], yum cha in Chinatown, Fishermans Wharf, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, just loving being here.
Internet access at hotel has been hopeless so cant log into this site very often but lets me log into other sites fine ???

Glad you had a nice day too. When I lived at Clovelly, the bus to Eastgardens used to go around Lurline Bay. I don't get over that way much anymore but I remember how pretty it is..and definitely not South Sydney..

I'm happy you are enjoying the trip. I've been following your progress with my guide book and you've covered lots of ground. I want to stay in Nob Hill..its la de dah..! Cow Hollow is another favourite spot of mine. It reminds me of Bellevue Hill but with Paddington type shops and galleries.

Ate far too much and sampled far too many beverages.... Good company, Bonfire, sun going down, music, tales of remember when, etc etc. Great Sunday!
