I'm in a similar situation , but will try and reserve some energy to fight for truth and justice ...via social media (insert appropriate emoticon here).

I think getting the game back on will be a huge boost for us all.

Thank you but I'm not really cut out for social media these days. I want to focus on my future now as I plan on working until I'm 70, not 65, as I can't sit still lol. I have the same birthday as SBW, Martha Stewart, John Howard, Tony Bennett and some guy from Metallica and we are not cut out for retirement. Healthy, wealthy and wise has always been my life plan with positive living & mindset, surrounded by people who don't cause disruption in my life or behave in a dysfunctional. selfish or stubborn way as I don't have time for that. I don't have a smart phone either and the only device I look at is my iPod. Music is an excellent antidote for anxiety or depression and only keep good people by your side and in your corner. It's quite ok to walk away from those who don't support you or make time for you in a respectful way. This pandemic should teach some lessons now to us all in regards to who and what is important.

I must say it's good to be a Rooster today. I haven't watched the game yet as I go to bed early but my neighbour across the hallway played for us in President's Cup and ironically got suspended for a whole year for a game against Souths so he is my barometer for anything Easts or Origin has he has colourful behaviour / I can usually tell who is winning without my telly being on. I always like to watch the game in full the next day online with no interruptions or ads and I like to make an event out of it with a nice lunch or dinner depending on what time the full game is uploaded. Just went for a really long walk around the back streets of Vaucluse with my 2020 Roosters cap on and it's SO SUNNY outside and winter is here...took ages because I kept running into Roosters fans..

Please don’t leave again RWB. I haven’t been on here much lately as I have been spending a lot of time caring for sick family, especially the past few weeks. It’s great to have another female back on here to soften the blokeyness of the forum. No offence intended to the blokes on here but I hope you all know what I mean. I really enjoy you being a part of the forum and I hope I can start posting more again soon.

It took 2 years for me to recover from the surgery as well. I'll check in every Sunday on this thread to see how everyone is doing, especially you MR and I'll keep posting on the music and food threads as they are very important too . Simple pleasures are important in keeping anxiety away. I hope you and your family have a much better week coming up.

We also lost my MIL in 2017 and I can’t believe it’s almost 3 years already since that day. I think our family has lived under a curse since then, but I guess it’s just a sign of getting older, losing our parents. It sounds like your surgery was a big one, given it took so long for you to recover. I hope you’re in much better health now. Thanks MR and it's exactly this time 3 years ago that I was diagnosed and my cousin had passed away the week before. The surgery itself was fine and I can't speak highly enough of St Vincents Private and I donate to them every year on my operation anniversary. The healing time after was the hard part as I didn't have any home help so I was fending for myself plus I had to go back to work pretty soon after as I was on a contract then and it was end of financial year. The funny part was when they discharged me and I was down in the foyer, there was a woman head to toe in Souths gear and here I was drugged to the hilt clutching sick bags for the taxi ride home...I often wonder if I had said something inappropriate to her... I look and feel so much better now so it was all worth it and I'm glad it happened because now I know who my real friends were too during that time.

Now I have important posts to make in the food and music threads...take care everyone..

You are not wrong there Jack. The first game back was the highest rating one for Fox Sports and the highest since 2014 for a regular season game for channel 9. So many people are happy it's back as a mood lifter..unless you follow Brisbane that is.. Wish Mum had been alive to see that one..she hated being surrounded by Broncos fans in Qld...I have not dared ring any relatives this week..
