    I do appreciate it.
    Thanks again, rwb.
Best wishes to you Eddie for the festive season and for 2016. I hope you and everyone else on here who has had yet another difficult year find a little peace and happiness. The holidays can be brutal for many, especially when loved ones have left us throughout the year. There will be many friendly and kind souls missed this Christmas.

        • Even confirmed atheists , or anti-theists ( as a tribute to the great Christopher Hitchens) can enjoy Chistmas.
This year it's all about my youngest, Em , and the grandkids.
2016 will be better, so happy new year to all , and go chooks.
Thanks to everyone who added to this thread.

          • I've really enjoyed reading how others here have coped with their struggles. As for this bunny with teeth, I've adopted rwb's no dickheads policy. My mate parkway & I were playing in a touch Footy team with the biggest tool you can imagine. Now that the season is over I've decided not to go back, even though I love touch Footy. I can still play at work, & at least mates like parkway and others appreciate & not just use me.

Seasons greetings to all, & even though I don't know most of you & support another team, this thread has genuinely assisted me.

I'm really happy we could help you BWT and yes, who cares if you support another team? When it comes to sensitive matters, something as trivial as which team we follow can be left in the playground!
As I head towards turning 50 next year, the best advice I can give you if you are having trouble with friends is think of how they make you feel when you are in their company, or how you feel after socialising with them. If you go home with a smile on your face and plenty of nice memories and continue to text each other on the way home after a good time out, that is a true friend. If you find yourself wanting to escape, feeling negative, headachy or drained or wondering how you got yourself into a friendship with such a person in the first place, then maybe it's time to gently move on from such a person. It's funny that all the people I've cut ties with have all been other women since I was assaulted but my real male friends are the ones I've kept close to me. It must be working because my accountant told me that I look younger and happier every time I visit him which is only once a year and a work colleague came back from 2 years away and she told me the same thing the other day.

              • Every Friday morning now I attend a trauma recovery group.
I don't know what if any benefits can be obtained from these type of meetings, but at least it's doing something pro-active I guess.
I'm still learning to discuss personal stuff openly.
Things were a lot different when I was younger.
And it ain't shyness or shame what holds you back, rather a gut feeling that no one else would be interested in your battles.
But life is short, so what the hell.

I always said Roosters fans are the best.

                      • I haven't checked out this thread for a while now. I hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there.
Ups and downs, bends and turns. Sometimes it feels like all you do is just go around in circles. And while you seem to always come out in the end gee I wish it wasn't always such a struggle to get there.
Looking forward to seeing some exciting new talent in the Roosters colours this year. And no Rabs and Gus has got to be a bonus. Take care everyone.
