          Could be an interesting result.
I'm hearing that the libs will more than likely hold government, but our esteemed premier don't look like holding his own seat.

I do admire your passion and dedication to your chosen causes stephenj.

If there were more people like your daughter involved in politics then the country would be a lot better off - no matter which political party they were involved in.

I haven't voted ALP since I "helped" confirm Keating as a PM in his own right.
But state elections are a different kettle of fish.

'There'll be no carbon tax under a government I lead'.

tootsie I remember very well the fact that that one sentence was taken out of context by the murdoch press, the accompanying sentence went on to state about a n emissions trading scheme, i dont remember the exact words but thye statement was made in brisbane. look it up if yoyu wish, so for one statemnt out of context gillard was attacked constantly for over 2 1/2 years unlike abbott who has broken any and every promise hes ever made but some gullable people still believe in him? hardly a selective memory, the facts just the facts!
she would view victory tomorrow as a mandate for a carbon price, provided the community was ready for this step. "I don't rule out the possibility of
legislating a Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, a market-based
mechanism," she said of the next parliament. "I rule out a carbon tax."
the only person who used the terman carbon tax was tony abbott who found his key to the lodge in that term!

Stevie, unless my hearing is going, Juliar definitely says 'there will be no carbon tax under the government I lead'.

Juliars carbon tax was not market based.

none could have envisaged theshattered result of that election forcing Gillard to negotiate with a plethora of minor parties and members to ensure a workable government, something abbott couldn't do as negotiation is not in his dna?the result of course was a much higher influence by the greens forcing the government into introducing a floating price on carbon, in abbott speak a carbon tax, certainly a departure from what was spoken before the election although the encumbent has raken what was spoken prior election to a whole new level of broken promises! that cannot be denied to do so would be an even bigger lie than the many continually uttered by the current embaressment of a prime minister!
