  • New Labor Leader a Roosters man

Apologies if this has been posted already and please don't get all political on me, but I thought this was interesting about Luke Foley, the new NSW Labor Leader. From the SMH:

Their mother, Helen Foley, raised them by herself, and as Mr Foley is fond of saying, she instilled in him a triple faith in “the Labor Party, the Catholic Church and the Eastern Suburbs Rugby League Football Club”.

I always live by the policy of if you cannot say something positive about someone then you shouldn't say anything. And having met, and having intimate knowledge of, Luke Foley, I'll say the following.

        ...
        SUPER DRAGON!

You stole the words quite literally from my keyboard.

Why can't we have a polly whose bio says:
"He was brought up to believe in Labour politics, Eastern Suburbs Football Club, and that religion is bunk and that those who believe in a God are comparable to those who believe in Astrology, Homeopathy and Centaurs (although as long as they keep their beliefs to themselves and out of public, then that's cool)."

LOL nah we all know he was a (failed) Liberal candidate in QLD so he's not gonna say anything. All he'd be referring to is 'my political circle reckons he's shonky/corrupt... everybody in the Liberal party knows you can't trust Labor leaders!' Then again, our friend probably met Sir Joh at some stage if he's decided to join the QLD Liberal party... real man of integrity!

Bit like asking Michael Maguire what he thinks of our boys... he's coached people to play against then and has seen them all hanging around NRL functions, but probably knows SFA about their private life/work ethic.

Hang on a second - are you saying Johnny was a failed Lib candidate?

Ah, no. I've been to Queensland twice in my life, once as a kid and once at 22. I've worked for a political candidate but I've never been one.

I just happen to know things about people. Like most other people.

Nope. I am a citizen of no mean party.

I thought Johnny lent more moolah to the left than the right. Or the bro' possibly swings? But definitely not a Tori Amos Spelling.
