  • Toe infection

Hey everyone, My big toe inbetween the nail and the skin right on the right hand side on left foot has an infection.

I can hardly walk on it and it just stings by itself when i do nothing. Does anyone know how do get rid of it? or what to do etc.

Sounds a bit like a wit-low..*spelling*, and if it is the infection will eat its way around the nail until it falls off....I had this on 2 fingers at a time....
It may not be, but if you touch near the inflamed spot, does yellow pus come out.....

A trip to the doctors sounds like the best option...

Well yes it does, thats how i found out it's an infection. Not right if you touch it on the top, if you go in a bit deeper it does come out.

I think the only option is to amputate.

Sounds like an ingrown toenail. I had nasty nasty ingrown toenails on both big toes a few years back, got so bad i needed an operation to make the nails narrower

Yeah I had that one one toe Adam, and now should get it on the other, but seeing as though I was awake for the op, they can jam it, cause it freakin well hurt....as its near impossible to numb a toe....

what you need to do is get a block of wood, put your toe on it, get a meat cleaver and chop it off, you should do it soon, the infection may spread to your foot and that will be harder to amputate.......................................... ...

I am joking, go see a dr.

First time it happened I went to my GP, he pulled the entire nail out. Got about 3 needles in my toe to numb it, wierdest feeling ever seeing a knife digging into your toe, rubbing against bone and not being able to feel pain.

Anyway, that was a complete fail. It grew back worse, and around the same time my other toe got it as well. So i had the op. Thankfully, under full anaasthetic.

I went to a podiatrist and had a similar experience and did nothing.....

Then after about a year later I finally got a hospital day, but the stupid pre-op gave me the wrong fasting time, so by the time I was wheeled off to theatre, I had not fasted for long enough....I had to either go with as many locals as they could give me and hope it worked, it didnt, or wait another 2 or so hours.....I wanted it over and done with so I went with the local.....I wish I had waited......
