I saw them at the Sydney Ent Centre sometime in the 80s ... it was actually a Midnight Oil gig with 4 support acts. Spy v Spy, Do Re Mi, Warumpi Band and Redgum. Warumpi Band were BY FAR the best of the supports ... they had some bloody good rocking tunes other than whitefella/blackfella ... was very impressed.Originally posted by Dihard View Post

Thought i'd share a story i heard from an old man in a nursing home, about John Lennon back in his heyday.
John Lennon used to get the shits alot about people trying to decipher Beatles lyrics. It was his pet hate. He couldnt get through to people that all their songs were simply just lyrics they made up when they would get together to write. They chopped and changed lyrics all the time, always choosing the one that sounded the best with the song. Thats why so many were nonsensical.
But people didnt believe that, they thought they must all have mystical meanings and such. Lennon really blew his top one day when the school nearby his home was planning a "beatles song lyrics workshop". He actually turned up and chastised the school for putting silly thoughts into peoples heads. He also warned that night that on his next album would be a song where they will still be trying to decipher it for hundreds of years. Obviously just for spite
