You know I DO have a problem with the download thing but I still do it. I look at it this way. If I buy a CD and 8 out of the 12 songs are only so-so, should I be entitled to some sort of refund? I don't think they would take to kindly to that.

If I download and album and then like the music, I am more inclined to see the band. I am off to see British India in a few weeks, if I had not heard their album, I would not be going....

The record companies need to come up with a more attractive alternative. They were saying the other day that it looks like it will go the way where people will pay a subscription and then be allowed to download as much as they like over a certain period. It may also be limited by the amount of songs. That seems fair enough to me. I would subscribe to that....

I have NO qualms about downloading music.
I purchase young up & coming talent's music. BUT I draw the line at the bigger names. Especially when some talentless hack like Mariah Carey is reportedly worth over $400m US. Puff Daddy is supposedly worth $500m. They can all kiss my hairy white arse!!!

I agree with JohnL on this. Many a time i used to buy a cd on the basis of a great song, only to find that the rest of the cd is complete shite..
