I left for overseas in the early 90's and spent the best part of 6 years there. My only advice is just go and dont stay in London with the rest of the Aussies. Cant see why people travel half way around the world to hang out with other Aussies. Heaps of them that I met on my brief stays in London that had never really travelled anywhere else either which was sad. Being a non city boy my first priority was to get out of the city so most of my work was in the country mainly in Scotland. Dont worry about work because if you are flexible you will fiond something.

    Have fun!

I was considering Ireland or Scotland for holidays. I loved London when I was over there in December and I could see myself living there, even with all the expat Aussies.

London !!!! You might as well pack up and go live in the nearest drain on your main road.

Lauren, there is an article in today's SMH regarding changes to working visas for the UK. The laws are changing in April. There are 2 million unemployed in Britain at the moment, so they are cracking down on jobs for migrants.

Yeah I'm a little worried as to how this will affect my plans.

Hopefully when I get my EU passport, it makes things a little easier.
