I loved Dio. I became a convert in 1976 when he was the first international act I ever saw, playing at the Hordern with Blackmore's Rainbow... and Buffalo as support.
The major highlight, apart from Dio, was when the disgruntled Rainbow fans trashed several rows of the Hordern Pavilion seating after Ritchie Blackmore refused to return for an encore. He later said it was because he couldn't burn his guitar due to a petrol strike
After seeing that wanton destruction I decided that this is what I wanted to see more of. The path was then set for me then and there.
RIP Ronnie...great front man for the couple of bands he performed in with a great voice...even a couple of years ago when Black Sabbath toured he was awesome live...
Heaven and Hell was awesome,Foggy. Have you got the DVD?
No I've got all the albums though...I went to the concert when they came out here last time and the heaven and hell cd has been in my car cd player ever since that concert and routinely gets a run amongst the 6 cd player...I love Black Sabbath...

I loved Sabbath from when my big brother bought that first album when I was a kid. Our six year old loves the cuurent Heaven & Hell album, "The Devil You Know", as we do. He was sad but he said, "Don't worry mum, we can still listen to him in the car." I do a little bit of work in rock'n'roll and was surprised how many people loved Dio this week.
