Don't believe the hype about NBN either. Sure it is capable of delivering 1Gps but the normal houslehold will never get that and nor will they ever need it. Businesses need that speed and they can get it now in the bigger cities.
Gillard tells us how we can download a movie in next to no time. It will still take you 2 hours to watch it.
You will be able to download books in seconds. It will still take you hours to read it.
You will be able to download CD's in seconds. It will still take you 50 minutes to listen to it.
I think the NBN is a great idea but I don't think we really need the speeds that they are promising. Nor will the money be recouped anytime soon.
The more people hooked up to it, the slower it is. Therefore the capability of the speed and the actuality are 2 different things.
