Bring on the sun, fine food and fine wine, Ima ready. It's been a hectic few months.

Back safe and sound and relatively schoolie free after having a great time up the GC. There were no schoolies at Sheraton Mirage and not many at its surrounds. We did see a few when we ventured down to Tedder Ave, probably why we didn't stay there too long after dinner!

Did a very nice hinterland winery tour and oohed and ahhed over the polar bears at Seaworld for way too long (they probably thought I was stalking them). Also made the mistake of going on the Jetboat Rescue ride - it might have only lasted about 2 minutes but they were bloody terrifying ones

All in all a very enjoyable few days - although ate and drank waay too much. I ate more at the Sheraton breakfast buffet alone than my usual daily intake of 3 meals.

        • Just had a great weekend away without leaving Sydney, booked a cabin at Narrabeen Lakes for 3 days, just metres away from the lake, ocean pool and beach and with the great weather it was a perfectly relaxing break even if i ate and drank too much.Even had a swim Monday morning before heading off back to work.

Probably not because they bought it in Los Angeles.
I have shot off an email to see whether i can change my original order through Amazon. No problems if i can't but the surprise has been spoiled.

Never thought that being told be careful what you buy before Christmas would include buying something on line from the US.Oh well at least i can go out and buy what i thought i was going to get now, unless i drop enough hints so i get it for my birthday a few weeks later.

Have you heard her voice lately, all those years of drug abuse have finally ruined it.
George Michael is also coming to Australia around the same time as Mardi Gras,i would guess he might be part of the parade or maybe even perform at the party itself.

Her voice is definitely not what it was. SHe is unable to do all the crazy runs and vocal acrobatics she used to and she has knocked off some of her higher register...can be expected when you smoke crack however her age is slightly to blame to. The female vocal folds lose their ability to vibrate at high frequencies as women age...

Even though she cant do the crazy runs as well as she could (which is what draws me to a singer) i really love her post crack tones...it actually has a really warm, earthy colour to it which i just love

Yes her voice had a beautiful soul feeling to it.I can't justify spending big $$$ to see her though,i would really want to see her late 80's early 90's form which is something sadly she cannot deliver anymore.

hmmm she may not be able to replicate her old form...is she as good as she used to be? no...is she still an amazing vocalist? yes

                              • Horrie, does this mean we can all put in an order for some of your beef strog? Discovered my local butcher makes a mean strog.....just have to add sour cream towards end of cooking.
