On the Today show this morning they ran a piece about chatroulette - see below.
A real worry for parents with kids and there being all of those sickos out there in this world.
"It's a funny thing the Internet sometimes. I first visited chatroulette.com at the beginning of the year and it was harmless. People were on the site saying 'Hi', 'Where are you?' and other introductory questions.
Today, the site, in my opinion, is full of people trying to shock others by their actions, voyeurs and attention seekers, and all i want to say is: "Don't go there!"
No doubt some of you will - you'll connect your webcam, dial in chatroulette.com to your browser and hit f9 to connect. That is the only orderly features of this site. Where you go from there and what you see, not even Nostradamus could predict.
The creator of the site has used flash version 10 to stream the video. The main feature of version 10 is that the video coming from your PC can go directly to the other PC and vice versa, creating a reduced lag foot print on the host websites network resources.
After you hit connect, the website instantly connects you to someone else sitting at their computer, looking into their webcam and you are meant to start chatting about, well, whatever.
If you see some kind of bad behaviour from a user and want to report it, bad luck. There is no sign up process or user authentication, not that it would do any good anyway. Oh, sure, they tell you on the site that you can report abuses, but how are they going to trace the person doing the abuse? Some people are on the site for seconds.
I will leave you now, And please don't visit chatroulette.com or at least remember that when you do, you have been warned."

I checked it out the other day and there is very little chat. There are a number of naked men though. Fine if your into that.
Luckily I have a internet filter on my kids PC and they cannot access ANY sites without putting a password in. I can grant them permanent or temp access.
And Yes WA, i am a fan of the Astrix comics. Loved em as a kid. Have watched bits of some of the movies. They are pretty good.
My mum used to say a slight nick in the skin and tied to a meat ants nest for politicians.....but these filth are far more deserving.....
I am reading one of matthew Reilly's books "the five greatest Warriors", its a good read....
Any way to my point, part of the story is that one of the good guys is a former mossad agent who went with the good guys instead of following mossad orders.
This character was considered a Category 5 enemy of the state of israel, normaly set aside for ex nazi or terrorists.
Anywho, this character was caught, his punishment was not death, as it was too simple and quick, he was shackled to a wall naked, surrounding him was a glass box, he had a catheta inserted and an IV drip in his arm.
he was then fitted with a scuba mask and the tank was filled with diluted formaldihide to preserve them.
Basically the character was to spend his life, alive, living as a science specemin you used to see at school.
that is one hell of a way to be punished....that seems fitting !

Just finished that book Muz & thoroughly enjoyed it - have read all of M.R.'s books.
Oh yes, that punishment as in the book would be very fitting indeed....gruesome but good way to punish these creeps.
Don't be afraid to step out in the rain. Take a chance. Sometimes the only way to get your rainbow is by getting wet.
I just picked up the book the other day WA, i did not realise that it was the 3rd in a 3 part series. Anywho, it had a great summary at the start and really laid out the other 2 books, i will probably read them as well.
Reilly's writing is in a similar vein to Dan brown and Robert Ludlum, for some reason i love books that are in series !

Friends of mine from Brisbane went last night and said she was appalling and a waste of $200.They said the support act Anthony Callea was far superior.
The Sydney show got far better reviews..
She is a different singer now, there is a much raspier quality to her voice, but she can still belt amazingly well (therein lies the problem, belting with strained larynges)..there were flashes of vocal brilliance..the last chorus of i will always love you was just like vintage whitney
and as for the bad reviews, it's just a whole load of sensationalism.. the papers have to sell editions some how and obviously slandering people is the best way to do it.. she didnt take a break after two songs, she didnt take a 20 minute break and hand the microphone over to her brother in the middle because she needed a rest: this is an 8 minute scheduled wardrobe change which has occured every show since the first in december...and people did not walk out early at all...in fact, after the finale, people stayed and cheered for over 5 minutes and she came out for an encore
and most importantly, she looks happy and healthy and she put on a show for her supporters..
well worth the 195..especially since i was front and center !
