  • I will misquote Winston Churchill when talking about King Arthur, by saying that if Sawney Bean didn't exist, he soon will.

    • Tony Abbott did not come across too good when interviewed by ch7 but I feel for the guy. There is no way he would make light of a soldiers death.

I'm sure he wouldn't make light of a soldiers death, but it was a very stupid thing to say even given the context in which it was said.

He'll be more damaged politically with his head nodding silence than anything else.

            Chook.

              • The problem I have is that the reporter is alluding to is that Abbott made the commentin direct relation to the soldiers death. There was an email about the lack of firepower that may have attributed to this guys death but what Abbott said at the time was not in response to the soldiers death. I would like to see the tape keep running and see what the response of the other troops was. This will harm his chances in the longer term.

I will admit I prefer Mad Monk Abott than the incompetent, insipid Dillard currently supposedly running this country, in cahoots with the whacko 'independents', who are far more dangerous than Abbott will ever be.

I notice that channel 7 edited the piece right at a crutial point.....

It has been pointed out that channel nine ran with the enite piece and that Abbot was taken out of context.....
While he may be a bit of a dweeb, I do not believe he meant any malice by it, but the head hunters that are channel 7...( are they in partnership with tel-u-crap).....managed to put a spin on it that was never there in the first place....

                      • although were politically oposed phantom, on this i agree with you,I honestly dont think abbott would mock the death of an aussie soldier, although his track record is not too good he has a reputation for slinging from the hip, badly, on hindsight im very glad hes not our prime minister!

                        • This Tony Abbott/Channel 7 quandary/bunfight/conflagration started after Julia Gillard wrapped herself in the Australian flag and wept over that dead kid in Melbourne.

And that was after she was accused of being a Robot.

She's no Robot. Because she's broken the first rule of Robotics as created by Issac Asimov.

                          1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

I'm yet to see an action by this government that isn't harmful in some way to humans.
