A bit of fishing a meal and a drink and nothing to worry about
How sweet it is.
Yep,its all good Shadow, oysters for lunch today also washed down a glass[oops two] of Cape Mentelle Georgina at the Kingscliff pub
Going to have a fish this afternoon,i found where Cudgen creek flows about 5mins walk from where i'm staying down by the bush, looks better than where everyone fishes near the mouth at Kingscliff.
Heading down to Grassy Head tomorrow, hopefully the rain has not muddied the water too much down there,i would like to catch a few flathead while i am down there.
Even though I'm not into fishing and don't like seafood I love reading your reports of your holiday Horrie, even though it makes me very jealous of the relaxing time you're obviously having.
Enjoy the down time, reality will be beckoning all too soon!
And have a glass (or 3) of vino for me.

Thanks Novice Chook, just trying to have a relaxing time before the reality of work takes over again next Wednesday. Will put up a fishing report when i get back this arvo but right now i'm going to jump into the pool, have been really blessed with the weather, managed to miss most of the bad stuff that has been happening in Sydney, the North Coast and SE Queensland.
Definately will have a vino or 3 for you
Fresh fish for dinner, went down to Cudgen creek at the back of Salt and within the first cast had a small but legal sized bream landed, same thing happened next cast, all up landed 8 bream in about a 30 min spurt,4 were legal size but only just, the others were a bit smaller. The bites[or should i say fish feeding] died off but not long after i hooked something which had a bit more fight, turned out to be a moses perch of about 28cm,just when i was about to call it quits i hooked another moses perch of about 25cm.So two nice freshly caught moses perch for dinner, the bream swam off to live another day.Could not believe how ballistic the bream were going early on even though they were only smallish fish, had i known they were that hungry i would have tried the creek earlier on during my stay up here.
Now i will just be happy to catch a couple of flathead for dinner one night down at Grassy Head.
Well holiday over, back in Sydney now.
Did not get to fish at Grassy Head because the accomodation was stuffed up and didn't stay right near my little fishing pozzie there, river was clear though because that arm of the Macleay is a dead end and has no creeks running into it,the Macleay at South West Rocks like most of the North coast rivers was chocolate brown.Spent one more day at Port Macquarie on the way back, the beach and water was beautiful also had to catch up with other friends and now completely covered in mossie bites after staying at their property near Wauchope.
Had a nice slow drive home after having breakfast at Laurieton, stopped in for Henny Penny chicken at East Maitland then went to the Hunter to stock up on port.

Hey Horrie,
I live near Wauchope. Next time you're up we might have to have a bit of a fish.
