I'm sure some other presidents/prime ministers have got themselves a dog but haven't got it reported.

I know Obama is very popular but is he too publicised compared to some of the other prime ministers/presidents of the world?

Every American President has had a special friend and it has been widely publisized about their introduction into the White House.....infact there is a journalist hired just for this occasion.....

It is a big thing and it is no more unusual than it was with Buddie and Bill, or George W and his corgie.......check through the history books and you will find the dogs of the white house are probably as popular if not more than the human occupants....
