  • A Bloody Good Restaurant

Can someone give me some advice on a nice place to take my missus for dinner please. At the moment I am leaning towards Altitude at the Shangri La Hotel.
But if anyone knows any better please respond. I'm sick of those eateries where they ask you to move to the next window and pay......the dragons (wife) over them also.
And NO I WILL NOT go to Tetsuyas for a teaspoon of his pureed peas!

How much do you want to spend a head? And what style of food do you like? I can give you restaurants that will cost you $300 a head or restaurants that will cost you $50 a head.

That's quite a good price. I'd think about The Bentley, Becasse, Flying Fish, Sean's Panorama, Pilu at Freshwater or Sepia. So:

            Becasse - 10 course degustation - $130 pp
Flying Fish - 5 course tasting menu - $110 pp
            The Bentley - 8 course degustation - $120 pp
            Sean's Panorama - 3 course a la carte - around $100 pp
            Sepia - 9 course degustaion - $130 pp
Pilu at Freshwater - 8 course degustation - $105 pp

If any of them interest you, let me know if you like and I can tell you all about them.

Flinders Inn is the best restaurant I've been to.

              Their gnocchi is like clouds

It's definitely a great restaurant - very much in the style of old school French 3 Michelin Star restaurants. But the value isn't the same as the others. The best (cheapest) they have got is a 3 course choice menu for $130.
