No, it's the NOT the 'What Are You Listening To Now?' thread!

It's a thread where you can name what you're currently into and recommend good tunes to good people.

Love Bloc Party to bits. My current favourite BP song is 'Signs'.

I'm currently loving the following Tunes, go to last.fm to listen.

The Black Ghosts - Anyway You Choose To Give It
        Passion Pit - Sleepyhead
        The National - Slow Show
Guillemots - Made Up Love Song #43
Joe Tex - The Love You Save Me (and basically anything off Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof soundtrack; I've played the Coasters song 29487239 times this year)
Architecture in Helsinki - That Beep
        Deerheart - Breakdown

Anyone else got any single song recommendations? I've got an 80GB iPod and a 24 hour flight on Sunday so any help is appreciated!

Into Pink at the moment - like her gutsy style!

Also enjoy Smash Mouth's version of I'm a Believer - turn the car radio up & "sing" along.

On my cd player at the moment is -
Abba - yes I like them!
          Chris Isaak's Christmas cd
          Ronan Keating

Sitting near the cd player for ready playing -
          Rowland Salley
          INXS
          Bryan Ferry
          Pink
          Robbie Williams
          U2
          Cat Stevens
Don't be afraid to step out in the rain. Take a chance. Sometimes the only way to get your rainbow is by getting wet.

Grammy nominations have been announced..Hugely dominated by British artists..Coldplay have the most noms i believe. Leona Lewis has 3, Duffy has a few as does Adele and Estelle (all British acts)...Alicia Keys and Rihanna have a couple and Beyonce has one..

and Alexandra Burke, a brilliant singer just won British X Factor (the show that launched Leona Lewis. Her debut single Hallelujah is an amazing cover...cannot WAIT for her debut album in March next year. Hope she's as big as Leona.

BEST albums atm..I am Sasha Fierce by Beyonce..Musically, her best release yet. Jessica Mauboys album Been Waiting is also good.

She was mentored by my idol Cheryl Cole, I am so glad she won. She is amazing.

IMO Beyonce's album was disappointing and Jessica's album is great.

Cheryl Cole is definitely one of the prettiest women I have ever seen..and she seems a lovely person too...not much of a singer...but I like her..

Jessica Mauboy's album is very fun. I think with the exception of Guy Sebastian they are the best tracks of any Australian Idol product so far. It's a shame the phenomenon is pretty much dead and while some of the singles chart well, the albums never make number one anymore...If she was from a earlier season it would be a huge smash..

Re: Beyonce...my thing with her as opposed to Christina Aguilera is...every Christina album - all great tracks because theres always a mould - her first - breaking into the scene with the pop princes gimmick. her second she did the whole raging whore thing. and the third was the jazz beauty...whereas Beyonce IMO if you compiled some of her tracks you would have one great album...this is the first album from her where I have only disliked one or two tracks...and the ones i like, i LOVE

PS forgot to include before - NeYo nominated for 5 grammys too - so much more talented than CB

PPS After 48 hours - Alexandra Burkes "Hallelujah" is the fastest downloaded song in British recording history - (Leona lewis held the two previous records)

I know, I love her so much. She came out and said that she hasn't got the best voice in the world, neither do her band, but they all make it work.

And I am so in love with Ne Yo. His new single, Mad, it's so amazing for contemporary R&B.

Neyo is pure talented..he can sing and many recent R&B hits are attributed to him. Take a Bow by Rihanna and Spotlight by Jennifer Hudson are two that I know. There is a list on wikipedia - its a long one

all of their songs sound the same. rihanna, chris brown etc... i was reading the itunes top 10 downloads of 2008, and whilst i have heard of them, none of them would make my top 500! terrible music this year. they are all try hard dance/r'n'b rubbish. i think only that newton faulkner song and jason mraz had hints of a melody

im not normally into that semi-mainstream stuff but i did like that jason mraz song but the newton faulkner song was so annoying..

but re: melody..."if i were a boy" is actually a very technical song for a vocalist to sing..huge range because the chorus goes up the octave...

chris brown is a talentless hack..great dancer but as a singer he's foul..i've seen him live and all he did was dance and occasionally throw in a run of (off key) vocal gymnastics above the backing track.

as a vocalist, rihanna is woeful..her sound is what i imagine a dying frog would sound like...but i really like her music

Deadset Devon you have the worst musical taste ive ever seen. That Amy Wino thing is an absolute dropkick and she couldnt sing to save her sorry arse.

I wouldnt piss on any of those eggs. Waste of urine methinks.

Not bagging your opinion mate, just that sorta music makes my ears bleed.

                            The FlogPen .

                            You know it makes sense.

haha amy winehouse is actually a very very talented jazz singer - she just happens to be a trainwreck

and nobody can question the vocal prowess of beyonce..R&B etc might not be your cup of tea but Beyonce has a truly brilliant voice
