you've missed the point completely trenticles. music isnt good or bad because someone tells you its right or wrong. its completely objective. just because someone has decided that beyonce can wail the "right" way doesnt mean we all have to think she's a good singer

Yep i totally agree,it's like wine,what the so called experts may call a great wine might not agree with everybodies palate,it is totally objective.
I too think Beyonces warbling sounds like a strangled cat.I didn't mind her in Dream Girls though,her vocals sounded thinner in that but that was more the fact she was playing the Dianna Ross character and trying to create that sound.

i know nothing about wine so i cant comment there..however i disagree with you as you disagree with me...you can judge the abilities of a vocalist completely objectively on the basis of their abilities under the banner of pitch and the like..

all biases aside, beyonce is a brilliant technical vocalist..

now, talking objectively...i loathe rock music...however, i can say objectively that anthony of RHCP is a very good vocalist...the list goes on

point being, the abilities of a vocalist can be stated without accounting for personal taste

Being a good vocalist on a video clip and being a good vocalist live are 2 different things.

I have seen beyonce live, and i could not belive i paid to listen to that !!!! you can allow for mistakes while a performer sings live, hey they are human, BUT there is no excuse for what beyonce dished out.

You want to hear a performer live that has a great technical voice? go listen to Delta goodrem live.

She is technically better live than beyonce, Alecia Keys is another that is technically better live than beyonce.

Add joss stone to that list, pink, Chrissie Amphlet, kylie, Madonna, hell i would put kelly clarkson before beyonce.

While beyonce may put up a good show and make a good video clip, live she is well below par for a perfomer with such a so called "brilliant technical ability".

I have also heard beyonce live..she didnt sing a note out of tune and the vocal gymnastics were absolutely incredible...P!NK and delta are good but they are no in the same league as beyonce..P!NK is so raspy that it is often distorted and delta tends to be screechy in her higher register (brilliant pianist though)..

and madonna? dont make me laugh..i will admit that madonna puts on a brilliant stage show and there are few 50 year olds with a body like that but as a vocalist..basic pop singer, nothing special.. a career based around a gimmick.
