Welcome my Lone Rooster brothers...my niece introduced me to Kings of Leon and I think she may have seen them in concert.

Not to be confused with this band, Kings of the Sun...

    Happy Saturday everyone..

Excellent! I have both The Crime Of The Century and Breakfast In America albums of theirs. I like both but I probably prefer the first one more as an album as it’s more cohesive and interesting / experimental. ‘Breakfast’ is more commercial and poppy. But they are both great and depending on your mood at the time you can choose which one to play.

                          • Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having a safe and restful long weekend and happy Easter to those of you who celebrate…let’s not talk about the footy result…I turned it off at half time..oh dear..

Someone kindly asked me to post some Bonnie Raitt as they are not familiar with her music and they knew that going to her concert last night was going to be very emotional for me without the other late half by my side as he loved her very much also - there was however a spare seat next to me for much of the evening..so I felt his presence and spirit with me anyway..one of my neighbours drove us and she just messaged me to say how much she enjoyed the show also. Mavis Staples was the opening act and you can learn more about her on the first episode of Women Who Rock on SBS on Demand. I cannot believe she is 82..Bonnie is 71..amazing ladies who are now heading up to Byron for Bluesfest. I have a deep passion for blues music, particularly anyone influenced by Muddy Waters..I never knew that Bonnie regularly covers INXS’ Need You Tonight and Talking Head’s Burning Down the House…Sam Neill was in the audience too apparently..no, he wasn’t the one who eventually filled the empty seat next to us..dang! Bonnie also mentioned her dear friend Renee Geyer and also dedicated a song to Jimmy Barnes and sang it just like he would..her prowess on the guitar had me gobsmacked..! My uncle saw her Stratocaster in a music shop up in Brisbane and regrets not buying it now as he is well into his 70’s and still performs also.

So I crossed this off my bucket list last night..albeit i had my eyes closed for most of this song which was one of Bonnie’s encores..

On another note, I’d like to respectfully request that anyone who has my personal contact details to please delete them for the time being until we can get them changed as it’s been brought to my attention that there has been some unpleasant behaviour going on and it’s gotten back to some of my family who don’t need the stress. I’ll once again reiterate I don’t wish to have any sort of romantic relationship with any forum members in the future and the very idea of this constantly being alluded to is now getting beyond hurtful for our families. This behaviour has crossed a line now, the damage is quite serious and there is no going back for me now. Some of you have had your fun, so please take this as our final request to stop. No-one on this forum has my permission to carry tales about me to other forum members.

Continue to keep each other in good company, look out for one another and be kind..let me live in peace now please also.

Oh and I highly recommend getting stuck into your bucket list if you have one..we never know how long we have left..
