RP, seeing my old street under water made me sick to my stomach. I recognized the surnames of some of the business owners they interviewed as people I went to school with.

Thanks RP. The aunties in Toowoomba are fine and the uncles on the Gold Coast are too. I spent years of my childhood complaining about being raised in a country town instead of Sydney where Mum's family are from and now I just feel so bad for everyone up there. And now there are scam artists doing bogus charity collections. Be careful who you give money to if you are donating.

Heading up on Thursday to help out with the cleanup for a few days. The local radio station has organised a bus.

Got back this morning from helping out for the last few days in Ipswich. Very sad indeed but the community spirit is bloody amazing and the attitude of most is truelly inspirational. They need cash but they need bodies too. So if you can give both then that would help them out big time. Those that have lost everything and not covered by insurance will find it a long road to get back to square one. Houses have been decimated and we were stripping them right back to their internal frame. Can't be lived in till the internals are replaced. Not sure how they get the money to get a tradesmen in to do it though. Might be going up again in the coming months.
