The bushfires in the hills areas of Perth are still raging out of control...........

Apparently some of the winds have been caused by the remanants of Yasi causing a low pressure system to form which then clashed with a high pressure system here in the west and 80lk/h winds than fanned the flames. Those winds along with thick smoke also meant that the water carrying planes to get up in the air although some water helicopters were able to assist. Not good.
Carnarvon which was hit by a cyclone around the time of Brisbane floods is struggling to recover........West Coast Eagles guys were up there last week helping people repair homes, etc. The commentators said before the cricket yesterday that Carnarvon has been all but forgotten by the media/people with all that had happened on the east coast. There were collections tins being passed around at cricket yesterday to help raise money to help the Carnarvon people.
