  • Australians are as gullibly stupid as Americans!

The mining industry can't afford a super profits mining tax...oh no, Ray Hadley and Allan Jones said so....damn Labor and their BIG NEW TAXES...we'll send the country broke....oh no...

    http://www.news.com.au/business/bhp-...-1226006818456

MINING firm BHP Billiton announced today it made a whopping $10.51 billion in profit in just six months.

Despite crying poor last year when opposing the Federal Government's planned mining tax, BHP saw its profits leap 71.5 per cent in the second half of 2010.
    __________________________________________________ ______________

To whomever believed either of those two farking morons (Hadley and/or Jones) give yourself a 71.5 percent increase in uppercuts!

    Chook.

The fact that most people actaully fell for the speil that it had the potential to cripple the mining industry as we know it May have something to do with it.

But what really makes Australians stupid is the fact we are the only country to vote in a govt Whose NO 1 policy at that election was a new tax the GST

I agree with your second staement, along with voting in Gillard.

Most people didn't fall for anything. It was all the media talking.

Nobody asked me or anyone I know. were you asked what you thought?

It will always be the media doing the talking, that's why I referred too Hadley and Jones! But it's not the talking that's the problem, it's the listening that's the issue here. The Australian public has become far too stupid to think for themselves and they can't see the truth for the media bullshit.

One crucial fact throughout this whole debate was never discussed or denied and that was the fact the miners weren't making "super" profits. Of course they are making super profits they just didn't want to pay an increase in tax on that super profit.

The Libs are in bed with the bloody indusry and Labor are now too farking scared to really tax the industry as it should be taxed, heavily! I hate gutless governments.

I can't wait to hear from Andrew "I'm a farking billionare Twiggy" Forest again crying poor with Allan "I'll suck mining cock for money" Jones saying "there there Twiggy I'll get those bwig bwad labor pollies for ya".

Australia needs to wake the fark up and take notice that they are being systematically farked over by pathetic government in bed with big business. Just like America.

          Chook.

As Chook said people cannot think for themselves The media tells most how to think ad they think that way. Sad but true

Nobody of any importance asked me my thoughts on the matter But for the record I wholeheartedly agreed with the tax.

BHP pay company tax isn't that a profits tax in itself?

Rudds proposal was to tax the mining industry x%. Gillard changed that to y%. So is the problem that they are not getting taxed enough? If Gillard had of increased the original tax percentage, would that have been better?

So we are "missing out" on billions of dollars over 10 years??? If the tax had not of been intoduced at all, how much money would we have "missed out" on?
