Hey pimp, you're better of waiting till they produce 3D tv's without the need for glasses. A mate of mine in the tech industry reckons they are only 12 months away.

Unless you are watching 3d movies and the Odd 3d sporting event (SOO and maybe a Socceroos match), it is just not worth a 3d tv at the moment.

You will have a function that will be rarely used and by the time more stuff comes out, the technology you got in your tv now will be out dated like chook said.
