There are so many great songs done by the great man to give a top 3 is tough many great songs get left out but for me it would be 1 Starman 2 Space Oddity 3 Life On Mars the great man had me obsessed with space as a young child and I actually wasnt sure as a child if Bowie was real or not and I always found myself looking out my window trying to see his light and over the last werk I have once again looking out the window trying to see his light again. For us middle aged folk the best thing we cando now is to make sure the great mans music is not forgotten by passing it on to our kids grandkids nephews and neices so they too can enjoy the magical music of the legend David Bowie

He did beautiful guest appearances too. Brilliant song in one of my favourite venues:

I watched Season 3 of the Gilmore Girls on DVD the other week and David Bowie was mentioned 5 times and/or his music played in the background.

Thanks for posting this RWB, I didnt view your post and came across this while I was surfing Youtube this morning and posted it and then realised you did before sis lol.

I deleted mine but maybe it is worthy of a double post and not a post from Double?

I couldn't contribute to this thread as I couldn't access the chookpen from my pc for a couple of months for some reason.

Such a great loss of a tremendous talent.
Had forgotten about the time he spent in Australia and love hearing the story about Jeff Duff being his neighbour and how they first met.

I used to have a very large poster on my bedroom wall which freaked my parents out because Mum was convinced his eyes were watching her move around the house. Starman was the first song of his I loved and I was only 5 when it became a hit. It's almost like a nursery rhyme. David went through so many phases and personas in his career and every time I read about how he touched someone's life, particularly someone who was struggling with their own identity, it's very inspirational. As Madonna said, he made it ok for people to be different. I was lucky enough to see him the last time he toured Australia. I was watching the RAGE special from the ABC and there was an interview with Molly from Countdown and he was very concerned for the welfare of the 2 indigenous dancers from the Let's Dance film clip when Molly explained the media frenzy that surrounded them for ages afterwards. RIP also to the male dancer who is no longer alive either. You made Australia look amazing on the world stage.

This one is for you MR and I'm going to post some more of my favourites

From all the posts I've read on this site, this one is about my favourite.........
                            The starman?
He'd like to meet us, but he thinks he'd blow our minds.
                            Unreal
