I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already. Looking back at my post and my favourite 5 albums I have to add Blackstar to that list now. What a fantastic parting gift the great man gave us fans. He wrote the album knowing he was dying from terminal cancer. The lyrics are haunting, poignant and raw. Brilliant stuff."Those who care about you can hear you, even when you are quiet" - Steve Maraboli

Spooky how I was chatting via LinkedIn to a guy from my old job who had given me some Bowie playlists when I was made redundant from that job about his anniversary tomorrow and China Girl and then Fantastic Voyage from the Lodger album came up even though I have my iTunes always set to random shuffle with over 11,000 songs. Horrie Hastings had sent me a photo of Bowie Bingo from a local shop and while I was reading the text, a Bowie song had come up then also..he knows us fans still love and appreciate him. The greatest gift he left for young people I think was letting the world know that it's ok to be different.

I can’t disagree with you there. He just loved his art and creating music. It wasn’t about making money or rock stardom, he was always trying to experiment and try something new. He had so many different styles and ‘personas’ over his great career.
This is something I used to watch over and over when I had recorded it from RAGE back in the day:
