Nirvana got their revenge on Cher for you. Here they are fooling around in the studio (one would hope) doing Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves aka what the South Sydney Rabbitohs team song really should be…

I thought you may appreciate the beauty in that one Andy. Ian Moss is about to turn 69 in March and don’t get me started on actors I’ve always loved like Harrison Ford (81), Richard Gere (74) and Michael Douglas (79).

Well that’s enough pre-season shenanigans from me (I do love that word Andy as Mum used it all the time) so I’ll leave you as custodian of the longest running thread on here. I’m just not up to being on here regularly anymore these days…but it was nice to come back and visit. I’m sure our paths will cross again someday somewhere else.

This one is my favourite Whitney Houston song “Take Good Care of My Heart” which she had sung with Jermaine Jackson. Mum & I had this on vinyl so this one is very special. I have no idea who these artists are but the guy sounds very much like George Michael (no mean feat).

Andy, I'm still on the road to recovery and finding my way forward as best I can. hence my new autosig.

I appreciate the sentiment.. My heart's just not in this place anymore and I hope you will please understand. The thought of having to type another 418 posts on here makes me feel rather jaded..

I'm just finding things a bit claustrophobic at the moment and its making me feel smothered, when I prefer to be positive and upbeat. Even as I'm typing this, I can see what's happening as soon as I log in. It's not a nice feeling Andy and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Maybe we will see each other again real soon..it just won't be on here.

Thanks Rad for understanding and that’s exactly what I said to someone a few weeks back who had refused to pass on some messages to me just because they do not like the person who had been asking about my health. That was not their call to make, particularly at Christmas time when I could have done with the cheering up. It’s like playing God and meddling with someone else’s mental wellbeing and life. I cannot tell you how furious it made me and you know it takes a lot for me to get to that point.

I’m the sole judge of whom I want in my life going forward and the ones I’m leaving behind in that rearview mirror. Life is too short to waste anymore time watching the 2 person puppet show going on in this place every time I log in here. They should stop throwing stones and deflecting onto others. Funny how you and Paddo are always vilified on here yet both of you have been nothing but gentlemen towards me since I came back. Food for thought for others on here..

Now you take good care of yourself too and your little girl who is probably taller than me these days. Don’t be a stranger and you know where to reach me..I’ll be in the Ivory Tower at the Hotel California..

OMG George just came up on my shuffle with FREEDOM 90 as I type this..even he’s telling me it’s time to go..

I know you love a good sing song..here is Robbie’s tribute..

That is a great version, its that sort of song that could suit any type of musical styles.

Dave Gilmour called it his favourite PF cover.

Nightwish, with their current singer (since 2013) are amazing. If you are even vaguely interested in Symphonic metal they are well worth a listen.

He is not actually their lead singer. They did this cover while the (former) female lead vocalist was doing a costume change.

Nightwish are a Finnish band, and are now fronted by Floor Jansen, a Dutch woman and the best all round vocalist I have ever heard. In keeping with this thread, here is her solo version of Alone, made famous by Heart (although theirs was also a cover).

I’d be happy to make some Nightwish recommendations if you’re interested. They have been around since 1996 and have a big catalogue, but where they really excel is live performances, especially since Floor joined them. They have a few live DVD’s that are all over YouTube. They are the best introduction to their music.
