Traffic jams 24/7

High rise where there shouldn't be

English as a 2nd or third language

Seven bucks a schooner

Three hundred a week for hospital parking

And no, I didn't find time time to go to a home game.
Money aside, how the fark can we cope with the stress of game managers when smoking is banned?

Last time I went to a live game things were a lot different.


Sydney is a complete shite hole.
And I grew up there and drove an RSL cab from Liverpool in the early 90's.

Us Sydney siders aren't crazy Eddie - we just take the good with the bad and get on with life in this city where we live.

I live in the western suburbs and travel to work, footy etc. The train system and I are old friends, have been for years I drive to the footy for weekend games for convenience alone and park in the shopping centre near the club on the cheapest top level. Around $15 flat fee.

The smokers I know who go to games bolt out to the area where you can smoke at 1/2 time - not sure the exact area myself as I don't indulge.

You might be better off outa the big smoke, and in a place where you feel more comfortable. Wherever that is, take care and look after yourself.

While I agree with you somewhat Eddie especially with the West Connex juggernaut destroying the area close to where I live and also the out of control developments close to where I live around Mascot/ Alexandria, Erskineville which will have densities worse than Shanghai and the constant traffic congestion [which West Connex is just going to shift on to the already congested St Peters, Newtown, Alexandria, Waterloo road networks] I still love living in Sydney. Even though I love getting out of the city for a break I love coming back home and in my mind I don't think I would want to live anywhere else. I also know plenty of peaceful and serene places all around Sydney which makes it easy to cope with and even escape the rat race without even leaving Sydney.

Those mates of Vic Radley at the game tonight on the western side are the definition of crazy. I bet they live in Sydney but they are a good kind of crazy. They were noisy and great.

See I love coming to Sydney for a game with my mates, or a few days with the wife.

Mate lives in Randwick so we usually go to the DOG for a beer and punt before the game, then make our way through surry hills where there is a new place to visit each time. Smoking used to be just outside the turnstiles at the sfs, now they make you walk to pretty much the Olympic pub on oxford. Little extreme.

when with the wife, I either stay at the sands in Coogee or at the Sheraton in the city, leave the car parked, and always take the public transport. I love sitting on the bus letting someone drive me to Watsons bay for fish n chips and a beer, while watching all the rich and famous places of double bay and the like along the way. I have never had any problems with the public transport, I think the trains are great and always been on time. Hope the light rail plays it's part too as it looks like it will head to Randwick racecourse too.

the food options in Sydney are awesome, and a trip to manly is always nice "getaway " from the city.

living there is obviously different, but I have been to Sydney so many times, and always enjoy coming back.

It is nice and relaxing driving back into what feels like hick town Canberra after a while though and let everything drop from busy mayhem to a stroll.

Sydney put my anxiety levels through the roof, but I had a lot on my plate while down there.
Just amazed at how much things have changed in 15 years.

I have even more respect for those of you who still attend games.

I hear you Eddie, Sydney is a great city, but for me I just couldnt cope living in Sydney anymore. I work sometimes in Sydney and sometimes at Wollongong and have moved to the Gong in January. I just couldnt imagine myself going back anymore. I prefer the relaxed lifestyle of Wollongong with still enough things to do and only an hour or so to go to Sydney every now and then, for example Roosters games.

I was on a funeral at St Peters Anglican church at Watsons Bay & it looks across to Georges Head & Middle Head where Headland Park is, its practically untouched but when I was looking across I thought to myself that the day the Aboriginals saw those big ships sail in to the harbour that must of thought "Oh well its all over".

Where I live their is still a colony of Koala's which is one of the few left in the Sydney region - The males when Mum kicks them out travel through the bush behind us to where ever they can find a mate - We can hear the Males bellow at Night quite often during certain times of the year- Over the years their habitat has been dwindling as more and more estates are built and encroach on their Habitat. Wont be belong before they wont have a habitat to live in and the colony will be no more and the only time you may be able to see a Koala in the Sydney region is in the Zoo.

Only a finite limit to how many people can live in this country and it's getting to a near full stage - People will not live out in regional/country areas of Australia - scarce jobs/facilities/schools/health facilities/cost of basic items are more than city areas due to transport costs etc etc. So they will just pack more and more people into cities building skyscrapers to fit them all in with less and less owning any property they reside in - rent only - The issue also in years to come is what jobs will be available since so many current jobs are earmarked for extinction due to technology/automation etc - have high rise ghettos like in America for an example as a result- long term unemployed. Crazy
