Sure it could be called that and maybe the phobic part could be added to those against the religious beliefs making them a religious’phobe’ or any other person opposing a view, lifestyle or opinion. Could it not?

Folau is no victim of some far-left response, this is freedom of speech at work. He has the right to say what he likes, no matter how offensive. In turn society can use its freedom of speech to criticise other speech which they have done. Society has changed and some opinions which were fine in the day are now unacceptable, and saying that gays will go to hell will elicit such a ruthless response. Im against political correctness myself, a dyed in the wool conservative who votes Liberal and religiously reads The Australian. But it seems no one gets freedom of speech with the lefties under Communist Shorten intending to introduce the Soviet Republic of Australia wanting to shut down free speech if it hurts peoples feelings through the feminazi Fairfax/ABC Left 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act. On the Right you have bleats of freedom of speech from the likes of DLP Abbott and Abetz who want freedom of speech when it suits their agenda for climate denialism, immigrants and to express religious fundamentalism but cry blue murder when its affects one of their own. No one is principled, everyone is tribal. The fringes have their zealous culture war while all us poor folk in middle Australia are its casualties.

Toongabbie which is near Parramatta. What's geography have to do with anything anyway? The Eastern suburbs areas you described, along with the North Shore are typically socially progressive and would find Folau's comment indecent.
