Hope everyone has a lovely week, those of you with unwell loved ones, stay safe and be kind to one another...xx
Ugh Sharkies next week..wonder if they'll go down the same route as their number one fan did last night? One can only hope...
Ok the great man has spoken as below so I must go and prepare for the working week. Even working from home, there is still prep to do. I'll come back another time..
I'm sure Jenny Morris may have been performing at that New Year's Eve concert I went to..I need to add Kate Ceberano of course to my list..only if she brings her brother Phil along. I find his guitar playing very calming and soothing..lovely man..
That Instagram video I sent you of Kate with her daughter is amazing..I cannot spot the difference between the two of them. I really have not seen a mother and daughter resemble each other so much.
One my nieces is married to one of JPY's relatives..she's met him at weddings...the families didn't join until years after my niece married her husband so we didn't have the pleasure of his company or talents at her wedding as she got married in 1997. I forgot about all the leagues club shows Mum & my aunty took me to. Mostly at Parra or Canterbury-Hurlstone Park like you. Marcia must be in there somewhere..Oh JPY came to Warwick..I have photos..and also we drove down to Toowoomba on a Sunday night to see Katrina and the Waves..she can rock a guitar just like Joan Jett or Suzi Q..not just little miss Walking On Sunshine..I have excellent photos of those gigs too..will show you one day..they are in an album on top of the wardrobe..
Jenny Morris was a real treat, virtually had the whole venue to our selves , have seen Jenny also in a free concert in Victoria Park and she also performed the New Zealand National Anthem at the 2002 Grand Final.
Yes Gypsy does really look like her mother.
Forgot i saw Bjorn Again at the Enmore Theatre but i cannot put them into the upper echelon of some of the performers i mentioned lol.
I haven't mentioned some of the performances i have seen at the football but will mention Daryl Braithwaite twice at our winning Grand Finals.
This song always takes me to a happy place and it sums me up right now..Happy to dance and be free . I've been dreaming all week about my mother and she used to love Tina. The song lyrics mention mother so I think my own mother would approve of this one:
Favourite part of the lyrics:
So good
Be free
Can dance and laugh and just be me
So good
Be free
The clouds above have disappeared
So I hope this finds you well
Sun is shining down eastern valley ways
There's some news I need to tell you
Give my Mother a kiss
Tell her I'm ok
I recall her words
"If it's too easy
It never lasts
I have compromised
But I'm finally free of the past
Now I can dance
Clouds have all disappeared
Freedom
I hold so dear
'Cause nobody knows me here
Though I can only imagine the sadness
In your eyes
Please understand
Now I can dance
All alone the other night
I came to realise we'd be friends for life
It was always meant to be
For some people the heavens can get it so right
Like an angel you see
You have graciously offered a hand
You'd be so proud of me
Now I'm finally taking a stand
Now I can dance
Clouds have all disappeared
Freedom
I hope so dear
Cause nobody knows me here
Though I can only imagine the sadness
In your eyes
Please understand
Now I can dance
Now I can dance
Now I can dance
Clouds have all disappeared
Freedom
I hope so dear
'Cause nobody knows me here
Though I can only imagine the sadness
In you eyes
Please understand
Now I can dance
Though I can only imagine the sadness
In your eyes
Please understand
Now I can dance
So I hope this finds you well
Sun is shining down eastern valley ways
So good
Be free
Can dance and laugh and just be me
So good
Be free
The clouds above have disappeared
Yes Eddie, it was demolished quite a few years ago. Trying to think who i have seen there . Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Tina Arena., Olivia Newton John, Kylie Minogue, Elton John ,thats off the top of my head, may have been more.
Wow, I didn't think it was that old..................a bit like the SFS I guess.
btw......you deserve a medal for sitting through a Minogue gig
By far the best of his concerts Eddie..I am very impressed. I have that on VHS.
Yeah it was a great night.
Pretty rare I went to a big concert...............I was more into the pub band scene. For me , seeing H & C at the tivoli was a big venue.
But talk about being impressed.................that post you made after going through your ticket stubs...........what an effort, that must've taken forever!
I love Iggy..and not just because he and David Bowie used to watch A Country Practice together in Switzerland....David invited Shane Porteous backstage to a concert..
Sad song from Iggy. Another one that reminds me of staying up late to watch Rage:
Wasn't rage the show that had an Iggy song as the theme?
Yeah it was a great night.

H & C were featured last week on that Diesel program on the ABC for their Under One Roof concert at Selina's at Coogee. I used to have the CD but there was too much drunken swearing for my liking so I got rid of it..the downside of listening to a live performance.
Oh and thank you..I do like to keep an orderly inventory...LOL..
"Those who care about you can hear you, even when you are quiet" - Steve Maraboli
Iggy's version of Wild One is used for Rage... Lust for Life is the one you posted....it was a jingle for a beer commercial too..
I had his Blah Blah Blah cassette years ago.

I have about a dozen Hunters cds.........boxed somewhere.
Another rather large gig I remember was Neil Young at the Horden Pavilion. Don't date me on that, I was under-age at the time...............but it didn't stop me getting " room stoned ", lol.
The joys of being a non-drinker...LOL...some on here seem to resent my superior memory..but that's only because I know where they buried the metaphorical bodies..and I know when they are telling me porkies and trying to string me along with fibs..the joys of being an Empath. We have our own inbuilt lie detectors.
I just got this message from my work mates as they are in the office and I am at home: "You are such a positive soul! The world needs more of you. We love that..We can see the drive and focus in you...". They have me cataloguing/archiving/records management..so I did the same with my ticket stubs....seriously though, they are not just ticket stubs..its a box full of memories of wonderful friends and family, some of whom are no longer on this earth, so it's very important to be kind to each other whilst we are all still around..life is too short to be angry, stubborn and negative. It costs nothing to reach out to someone and apologise if need be. Real friends won't mind and will always be open to listening and accepting. I think more of people who genuinely apologise to others, rather than continue a charade of keeping up a facade that I can see straight through anyway. Such a waste of time and energy. Elton John and Bernie Taupin sure knew what they were saying when they did this one:
