Just a shame when they were doing it ABBA was fractured and just about finished but what the hey 39 years later they came back and boy what a come back, it was like they never left. Have to admit when the two new songs were released and then the new album dropped was one of the happiest days of my life especially after the 18 months to two years of lock down with the pandemic, it was definately a bright spot in which was a very dark two years.
I still get the chills when I hear any of the new music. I'm looking forward to sitting by my sister's pool this Christmas in Melbourne with her and the family just listening to the whole album from start to finish as I had sent it to her last year. She said she needed to first listen to it with no children, husband, barking dogs or grandchildren under her feet...

One blessing from lockdown is that just about every artist we know and love became very prolific during that time. I'm still trying to keep up with all the new releases from all the UK magazines I read online. A lot are starting up their tours again and releasing new albums.

    Another numbers song:

      • Ones and Zeroes - Jack Johnson

One of his best if not his best.

There's a black hole pulling me in, I slowly bend
'Til I see the back of my own sins
I stole my soul from myself
        Now I wonder
Wonder is there somebody with a perfect plan
That goes boom when it's stamped, then we could understand
How the gods of old used to clap their hands
        To make thunder
And so were clapping and were laughing like it was so absurd
In the future we'll be laughing at who we were
Right now as man plays God with the land
        That he plunders
To the one unknown no one can own
No seed that's resistant to greed
If we listen to time after time
        Time can never go under
There's this vine trying to climb
Through the window into my life
I dont mind, I dont mind, I dont mind
There's this wine trying to find
Its way from the bottle into my mind
In my mind, in my mind, in my mind
And so this vine is trying to climb
Through the window into my life
To bring me symmetry and memories of a backlit breeze
Back into a dream on the ground
Looking up at the sun coming down
Into a world where boys and girls are holding hand held devices
While they're eating and they're sleeping and they're dreaming of the prices
We'll be paying down the line when the ice melts
Maybe it will turn to wine
And all the greatest of the heroes started jumping from the books
They started wearing ones and zeros looking more and more like crooks
They stole the sunlight from the future, took a sip
Drank half the glass and put it back
A lot of people like to have a feast, not so many can stomach the killing
A lot of traffic on the streets, so who's really doing all the drilling?
Keep on filling what can never be full
My imaginations got a hole in it
There's this vine trying to climb
Through the window into my life
I dont mind, I dont mind, I dont mind
There's this wine trying to find
Its way from the bottle into my mind
In my mind, in my mind, in my mind

        When you trust your television
what you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information
they can bend it all they want

                              • Whilst everyone else was swooning over "Hello" from Lionel Ritchie's Can't Slow Down album, I much preferred this song:

                                The Only One
