Yes that's the one from Mirage...you remember those crazy shirts I used to sell in the shop with the spiders, ants etc? The owner/designer used to come and visit me and that was his ring tone..that's when I knew he and I would be great friends..

this one is from the same album and is so pretty:

He still does haha! But he's told me that I've introduced him to so many other artists and songs he never would have even thought about.
Oh MR. I just read this post now and the romantic in me is coming out.. That's so lovely..even perhaps if it was AC/DC you introduced your husband to. Music is such a lovely way to bond with someone, even if it's friends & family, not even a brewing romance. That said, the way to my heart is a beautiful precious song and maybe some fancy cheese..no diamonds necessary..Unless it's Neil Diamond..

Every year or so I send updated playlists to my sister and uncle and auntie who are now all in their 70's..but no Radiators!

You only have to look at the prolific outpouring of new music which has been coming out of lockdown over the last 3 years from artists new and well established. Because I read those music magazines so voraciously online every weekend, just about every artist we know and love has been busily writing, producing and recording during Covid. Blessings coming out of something so awful for the world to have to deal with.

I know Horrie has this one. I'm going to put it on now whilst I work as I have not heard it before and I have no meetings today:

          • This is the original version of The Rose. I watched the movie of the same name over and over again and I was 12 when it was released: It was based loosely on the life of Janis Joplin. We had to sing this song for our very last mass in high school. Or course, SOMEONE kept making everyone do it again over and over..you are all out of tune..go back and start again..I wonder who that was? Well they do call it choir PRACTICE for a reason.....some of those girls still talk to me...only some..

            • Can't start the day with the sad song above, so here is a happy one. Enjoy! I know I've posted this one pages back more than once but I just love it (and don't actually have it in my collection. I did have the cassette years ago. It's from Tales of the City by The Rockmelons) This one is called Rhymes:

Oh golly...I can barely remember that...and that's a good thing! I hadn't heard Nana sing The Rose before either..Mum would have loved that version. It's very light and delicate..ok no crying before work..or in baseball or in 2004 grand finals as Mum used to say...speaking of baseball..that line was from this movie. A League of Their Own..I absolutely love swing music (not from my era) and here is Madonna in her element, oh just read underneath the comments on Youtube that one of the gentlemen dancing with her passed away last November..

Dancing Queen is one of those feel good dance floor songs that gets every one dancing and singing away, some of the musical experts said they have tried to dissect the song and there are so many different things going on in it at different levels. Funny though it isn't in my top favourite ABBA songs, i like it but just others i like more, my top 5 are. 1-Summer Night City 2 -SOS 3-The Visitors 4-The Winner Takes It All 5- The Day Before You Came, there are so many other classics though as we all know.

When we first met my better half said they didn't like ELO, reckoned everything sounded the same, when we were in Europe in 2011 i bought an ELO box set in Amsterdam, was playing some of it where we stayed in Spain and a song called Getting to the Point came on and my better half commented what a good song that was, then to my surprise a couple of months ago we were sitting on the lounge listening to music and the better half said i'm glad you persisted playing ELO because i really like them now and i turned and said you don't realise how happy you have just made me, it doesn't take much to me me happy but that definitely did.
Most of us have someone we just cannot relate to in our own families so this is why this song is for you and others who may or may not be pains in the arse from time to time but they are our pains in the arse (can I say arse on here?). This is the first time I've heard this song but it won't be the last. We love one another broken bits and all..who wants a Stepford friendship or relationship anyway? Mum always said if couples, friends or families didn't have the odd dispute or argument from time then that is a sign something is wrong.. Our friends are the family we choose for ourselves. That was the saying I first heard as a teenager.

That is a great story too MR, music is the best thing to bring people together.. Had a customer today and when i went to turn the music down a notch when i went to serve him, he said i should crank it up louder, it was in a nice 70's sweet spot and he said he loved just about everything from that era music wise.
