  • A long time ago, I went to the Tivoli on George st to see the hunters and collectors.
Got there early and had a spot at the front of the stage. Me and my friends requested "talking to a stranger" as they were only playing newer stuff. Mark Seymour made fun of us and rudely refused. I've always liked their music, but think their lead singer is an asshole.

    • MDMA, also known as Ecstasy or Molly, became the recreational drug of choice. Its popularity stemmed from the fact that its effects — euphoric feelings and heightened sensations — complemented the atmosphere of raves.

      • Like Horrie, I do remember the "enhancement" days.
When I first heard this one when I shut my eyes I saw a giant turtle singing it.

        • There’s so many great Beatles songs but this is my favourite. I remember playing it over and over when I first started delving deeper and deeper into their catalogue.

I love that song too Eddie. I don’t remember enhancements at all. Not sure if that’s good or bad.

That means you were a good girl.

Joy Division were great, although that song is very sad it's still a classic.

Yeah that was me, sweet and innocent.

Unknown Pleasures is one of my favourite albums. All of Joy Division’s songs are depressing when you read the lyrics but the music is great.

                • This just came up on my play list. Back to my teen years when life seemed simple, everything exciting, and when anything seemed possible.

                  • Another from my teen years. I remember first hearing this when I worked in Bondi Junction for Westpac, and this evening I came across this live version. For a moment I thought she was lip syncing, but I’ve seen her do an acapella version of Toms Diner, so I know she is not. Enjoy listening to what is quite simply pure perfection

                        • You got me thinking about weddings Eddie. John Denver was big in our household growing up as Mum was obsessed with him. Naturally I grew to love him too. I chose Annie’s Song for both my wedding and Mum’s funeral.

                          • When this came out I was in Year 7 I think. It was huge and I remember the lyrics being a big thing. These days school shootings are so common in the US, it doesn’t have the same impact.

Great song. I love the piano in this. The whole album is brilliant and one of my faves.
