I saw Mamma Mia in London back in 2000 and enjoyed it, saw in Melbourne and the show had got campier, then saw it in Sydney and it was very camp by then, it seemed to get played more for laughs the longer the run went on.
I read about that Voyage Show actually. I wasn't sure about the ease of getting to the stadium but I did read that it was very popular. The only reason I was thinking about Mama Mia was that it was a chance to see a 'stage show' in a London Theatre in the West End. Food for thought.

      • Was thinking of MR this afternoon when driving back from the Stadium as WS FM was doing a thread of songs with a reason from 2023.
They played Band on the Run as Sir Paul had just toured and also it was the 50th anniversary of the album.

and then they played Made My Day by Tim Finn as it was the 40th anniversary of the album Escapde.

Haha, two of my favourite artists. Thanks Horrie. It’s hard to believe Escapade was released 40 years ago too.

Escapade was such a great album, had it on vinyl but haven't got it now. Tim was talking a bit about how he wanted to branch away from Split Enz and was talking about Fraction To Much Friction from the album and i thought they were going to play that but they played Made My Day, neither song i had heard for years. Staring At The Embers is my favourite song off the album.

I had it on vinyl too but it was destroyed (long story) when a hot water system burst in a unit I was renting a long time ago. Not long after Tim decided to quit the Enz so it was very sad. He spent so much time on the album his contributions to Split Enz’s Conflicting Emotions LP which was released shortly after were very limited and ordinary.

                  • Voulez Vous was an album released by ABBA which was chock full of disco gems including the title track, it showed which direction ABBA was moving to music wise., it is one of my favourite albums from them and these two basically unknown songs off the album are my favourites.
