During an afternoon walk up to Marrickville we stumbled upon a second hand record shop that had many treasures in vinyl but the better half pulled this one out and said look at this , it was the soundtrack to the original Airport movie from 1970, the cover art work was beautiful and the opening track of Airport Love theme was one i remember on the charts and getting airplay way back then. I have the movie on DVD and is one of my favourites to watch but looking through the cast list now Jacqueline Bisset is the only still alive.

I cleaned up my IPOD about a year ago with all the Split Enz songs i had on it as i had transferred them over off a best of Split Enz CD i had but the volume off that CD was a lot lower than the songs already on the IPOD and noticeably so so i deleted them, got a better version of I've Got You downloaded but no other Split Enz songs since the deletes but Message To Girl must of slipped through to the keeper as it is still on the IPOD and i love that song, volume wise it doesn't sound quite as noticeable as the other songs i deleted but maybe because it a nice soft beautiful song to start with.

There’s been quite a few Split Enz compilations over the years. I have the latest one which is a 2CD collection and is very thorough in its scope. I have all their albums anyway so buying it was more for collecting purposes. Eddie Raynor did a big remastering of all their albums a while back and it made a huge difference to the quality of the recordings.

I only saw it when i watched in the in memoriam at the Grammys, such a shock as i have been playing her and Mylie Cyrus singing Look what they'e done my Song a lot of late, such a beautiful woman. Brand New Key was the song i remember when i was about 9 years old and has always stuck in my head. Lay Down ( Candles In the Rain ) is such a great song.

I was a bit of a Duran Duran fan in my teens. Who says they were just a boy band. I love the bass in this.

Lol no Jack, can't request songs that play in the centre , just thought the lyrics of this song and also the one of the Divynls song that they play quite often were a bit much for the kiddies in the centre and then i thought oh f*ck it, we are in the inner Wast and i have to put up with the kids throwing tantrums and screaming in the centre so its good to have some lyrics which might make some people think, did i just hear that.

For Cole's it's different, even though we have a Coles in the centre its not attached to the store i work at so we don't get Coles radio piped in, however on the website you can request songs and they must get sick of me requesting Xanadu and not so long ago i was in Coles and Xanadu was playing so i just went YES .

Seeing my store is a stand alone store all the staff play there own music either off spotify or with me i drag in the old IPOD, had one customer last Thursday saying they had not heard song that was playing for years, it was Up Up and Away by The Fifth Dimension and the customer said i had an urge to dance to it and i said to him i'm happy if you want to do it. Have mainly positive reactions to the music i play ( heavily stacked with the 70 s and 80 s ) but i'm sure some would be horrified by it to but the mainly positive comments i get when some of the old classics i play just makes the job so much easier.

It is one of those iconic albums which i play at home quite a bit, i rate it highly along with Carol Kings Tapestry.
