I don't post in this thread these days as I don't think other readers here share my love of country.
But have to acknowledge the passing of one of the all time greats of country music, Mr. Kris Kristofferson. So many great songs that he penned. My Mum spawned my love of country music and guys like Kris, Johnny Cash, Willie and Waylon were her heroes. And what do you know? They got together and formed The Highwaymen. Took her to see them in Newie when they toured Oz.
This classic would be close to my favourite of Kris. Think I'll be drinking a Dimple tonight and watching music vids of him.

Have to go again in memory of Kris. He was a writer who could express emotion so deeply yet so simply. Other artists have covered this one. I seen him live at the State Theatre in 2014. It was a few months after a very close friend had passed away and I recall this great song hitting home that night.Comment
