  • I have one of those Best Beer Drinking CD's (even though I only drink tea these days..) but the music is fantastic. This one was a favourite of Dad's and it's his anniversary on Wednesday so posting it for him.

Duncan by Slim Dusty..we have a family member named Patrick so Dad loved to sing it to him over a beer:

I'm off to bed as it's past my bedtime....enjoy the rest of your week everyone...

    • Great song indeed RWB, The Dance...I reckon we could all agree with the lyrics:

"Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain..but I'd have had to miss the dance".

I lost my best mate 2 weeks ago, the handsome boy in my avatar, and the above words resonate. Not lying when I say I loved him more than anything/anyone I ever have...well except for Mum.

      What a dog. RIP Hank.

Thanks mate....I always assumed Zac your actual name, for some reason.

Enjoy the scotches Jack as you are entitled to relax and reflect as I know you had Hank for a very very long time.. (I think I ate enough potato chips and gluten free milk arrowroot biscuits for you, me and Hank on the weekend, you know how I get when we play the Storm.plus I needed my own comforting...double comfort food weekend..Nigella calls it carb on carb action in one of her recent Instagram posts..who am I to argue with such an accomplished professional lady)

Is Don is good...I remember posting on here that he, George Michael and Elton all possess very poignant voices..they are my 3 favourites for ballads...

Here he is with Patti Smyth.."Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough"

Love the lyrics "There's a danger in loving somebody too much"

I remember buying it on iTunes when I got sick as it kept playing in every doctor's surgery and clinic I was attending. They all must have it set to 'easy listening not to upset the patients' and rightly so. It hasn't played on my shuffle since..that was 29 May 2017..wonder why it won't come up on the random selection..probably buried deep under all the Madonna and David Bowie remixes of remixes...

Keep posting here Jack as this thread needs variety for all genres, tastes and tunes as you and your family are all actual musicians and can play instruments and everything..(my sister has the piano down in Melbourne, goodness knows where my other sister's tennis racket AKA my air guitar ended up..so I'm back to singing into the hairbrush)

Thanks for sharing the news about Hank with us all. ..most of us on here can relate..
