Enjoy the scotches Jack as you are entitled to relax and reflect as I know you had Hank for a very very long time.. (I think I ate enough potato chips and gluten free milk arrowroot biscuits for you, me and Hank on the weekend, you know how I get when we play the Storm.plus I needed my own comforting...double comfort food weekend..Nigella calls it carb on carb action in one of her recent Instagram posts..who am I to argue with such an accomplished professional lady)
Is Don is good...I remember posting on here that he, George Michael and Elton all possess very poignant voices..they are my 3 favourites for ballads...
Here he is with Patti Smyth.."Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough"
Love the lyrics "There's a danger in loving somebody too much"
I remember buying it on iTunes when I got sick as it kept playing in every doctor's surgery and clinic I was attending. They all must have it set to 'easy listening not to upset the patients' and rightly so. It hasn't played on my shuffle since..that was 29 May 2017..wonder why it won't come up on the random selection..probably buried deep under all the Madonna and David Bowie remixes of remixes...
Keep posting here Jack as this thread needs variety for all genres, tastes and tunes as you and your family are all actual musicians and can play instruments and everything..(my sister has the piano down in Melbourne, goodness knows where my other sister's tennis racket AKA my air guitar ended up..so I'm back to singing into the hairbrush)
Thanks for sharing the news about Hank with us all. ..most of us on here can relate..
Thanks again RWB...I realise the weekend was an important date for someone very special in your life too. Good idea the general thread.
No worries Jack and thank you....its been nearly 10 years now since we lost Muffin...oh and your family must be feeling the loss of Hank also so my best to them also as they will miss his presence when they come to visit..we've all been there....I've bawled and cried on the metaphorical shoulders of a few of you on here over the years..we all help and support each other no matter what..Roosters through thick and thin..I doubt very much if the Kennel or Burrow has such fine upstanding members such as ourselves who have bonded like we all have over the years....ugh now I feel dirty typing that..time for another country song..we need a happy one...but wait..that's a contradiction in terms...
This one is from that album we both have, Cass County. This one used to come up on my ferry commute. Love Don with Mick Jagger and Miranda Lambert..Mick Jagger has a perfect voice for country and he joins in a bit later in this song:
Just some random news from one of my music magazines. The Stones are playing at Hyde Park London next week for the first time on British soil since Charlie Watts passed away as part of the BST summer concert series. The lineup is impressive:
Friday 24 June: Elton John
Sunday 26 June: Eagles, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Little Big Town,
Friday 1 July & Saturday 2 July: Adele
Friday 8 July: Pearl Jam, Pixies
Saturday 9 July: Pearl Jam
Sunday 10 July: Duran Duran, Nile Rogers & CHIC
in keeping with the country theme, Little Big Town covering Elton:
We had a little dog living across the hallway named Lady and she passed just over a year ago. All the dogs in my building are owned by Roosters fans except this one but we made her an honorary mascot as I am close with the owner. This song is for her:
Country versions of Lionel Ritchie songs..I love this album and have had it for a long time. Dancing on the Ceiling with banjos! It will come up later on the YouTube shuffle as this link is for all the tracks on the Tuskegee album. Never say I don't look after my friends on here:
Yes it does Eddie...and I'm not smarter than you..you are plenty smart..I loved that PIL song you posted a while back too....This Is Not A Love Song..yes indeed...
When I saw that you mentioned Robert Plant, I wondered if you had posted Big Log..and there it was..this whole Plant & Page concert is brilliant and has stuck in my mind since I was very young..
