sorry to be ignorent but is britpop a particular era
Oasis were Beatles worshippers and Blur's music was similar to the Kinks. It was like a revival of 60's British Invasion, mod-rock etc. As well as 70's guitar Punk like Wire and glam rock Bowie.

Saw this band at an outdoor gig in Leeds They did this song I had only heard the song a few times before whilst I knew it I wasnt at all familiar with it Anyway throughout the song all the crowd my GF and her friends are all singing along at the top of their lungs. We were about ten metres back from the stage. Not really knowing the words I was just enjoying the music eyes closed moving my head and my shoulders along to the beat with a big smile on my face. As the song got close to ending I opened my eyes looked straight up at the lead singer who must have noticed me as I would have stood out being the only one not singing we made eye contact I got the biggest smile from her. It was so cool.

This one came out a few years before Blur and Oasis exploded onto the scene but is a perfect example of Britpop.

Noel wrote this one as he wanted to write a positive lyric against all the ‘woe me, life is so depressing and I want to die’ lyrics coming out of grunge in America at the time. It’s one of Oasis’s very best songs.

I was more into the American 90's grunge so I am looking forward to being educated by MR. I only bought a Blur CD but have a lot of various artists albums with Oasis etc on them. I was too busy with Seattle grunge. I won't terrify everyone by requesting a whole week of that..."Those who care about you can hear you, even when you are quiet" - Steve Maraboli

Get rid of posh Spice Victoria Beckham and you might convince me I love Mel C and Emma Bunton as artists and Gerri Halliwell does ok too. Mel C was definately the best singer in the group but i was totally amazed how good Emma Bunton was with Mel C when they sung I Know Him So Well.
