Bondi Boy you need to expand your horizons.
Even then I need to know them really well, they find it really funny to feed us stuff that we would consider unconventional ... having said that have had some really memorable local cuisine in HK. Spent lots of time working and playing in HK and Singapore. Love both places, especially Singapore. It's a foodies paradise !! Was there a couple of weeks ago and trying to get back for the GP.

Wow, now he gets his own thread. lol

Looking at your posts, you must live in a cacoon.
Yes this is a great country, but your ignorance is incredible.
Your narrow mindedness and shallowness towards other countries and races is beyond bewilderment.
So you won't go to Chinatown because of the gangs lol.
You need to get out more!

It is interesting to travel to a foreign land and see the way the locasl treat you. Gives an insight into how people are treated here. I met one Aussie OS that said "why doesen't whole world just speak English, it would be so much easier". If he asked for something and they did not understand him he was under the impression they were hard of hearing.....

Made me proud to associated with him....

One of the BEST things you will EVER do in your life is go travel overseas. Sure there is a lot to see in Oz but you will always get the chance to see the country you live in.

Does that that mean that he won't go to Maroubra for fear of the Aberton Bros and the Bra Boys??

Ha ha no chicken feet for me too Stephen. I steer well clear of any of the more unusual items. Have fun in KL and Bangkok. Always enjoyable places for a visit.

HongKongers are pretty aware that 'gweilo' are scared of a lot of their food and take great pleasure in getting you to try it. Definitely need to be careful you don't end up eating a duck's tongue or something. Apart from the local cuisine, as you say there are many different food choices. Pretty much anything you want is available from cheap to ridiculously expensive.

Hey Stephen - I had my Friday yum cha today as well. I'm stuffed like a pig. Be careful about believing those custard tarts are non-fattening!!
