Being voted into government and then having to negotiate a means to become a minority government...you could hardly expect her not to change some of her policies. Anyway, was it not Howard who introduced the core and non-core policy labels? He also said he wouldn't bring in the GST. Case in point, it happens on both sides of politics.

I couldn't give give two shits about politicians that lie. It happens all the time constantly. Most will change their standpoint on the sole basis of what will give them votes.

What should always be considered by voters is policy and fair enough if you don't think the carbon tax is appropriate. However I think too many Australians are uninformed about the mechanics, economics, science ect. behind policies and accept distorted versions of the truth by News Ltd and 2GB as gospel. Tony Abbott has benefited greatly from the emotional rhetoric he's used in attacking the government. He's a naysayer, who if you think about it a little bit, hasn't presented too many intelligent policy alternatives of his own.

Gillard/Abbott are completely uninspiring and it is only the thought of Abbott being PM that makes me tolerate Gillard. IMO, Australian politics would benefit greatly if Rudd/Turnbull reasserted their leadership positions, though unfortunately that appears improbable.

All in all, I think I've said too much. Political debate really doesn't add any value to a football discussion.

Nothing Rudd or Gillard or any of those clowns do will come close to screwing us over like Work Choices... Carbon taxes, boat people ... The libs don't give a rats about any of these issues... The only thing libs truly care about is tearing down our IR system so us commoners work for as little as possible! The other issues are to distract the docile.

Yes I am. There's a few threads where you are banging on about the PM in a childish way.

This is a football forum, there's places on this web site to post about this stuff, and I don't have to see it in the main forum. Even more widely so, the Internet is a massive place and you'll find plenty of places to have people agree with you about this elsewhere.

If you weren't being deliberately provocative what were you trying to achieve? You've made your public statement... what do you expect?

Having said that I'll gladly debate you, but I can tell you aren't prepared to listen, and obviously have no idea whatsoever about our political structures and the way our democracy works.

Howard and Abbott brought in WorkChoices without mentioning at any stage prior. If you've seen the results of a highly de-regulated labour market you'd know how disgraceful that was. Don't forget taking us to war... Children overboard - a lie that won an election... the Never Ever GST... The list of lies goes on... I'll bet you were strangely quiet then. Unless you were consistent but I highly doubt that.

The Gillard government which won the last election with the support of a coalition, you know just like the Libs have never been able to govern without one of those, and the the limitations of being a minority government is a democratic and political reality.

Like with most policy, the losers yell the loudest... those poor billionaire mining magnates and corporate alliances that are running ads.

Do you want to know something hilarious? The big spending mob running ads against the carbon tax thought it was a good idea to not pay the actors to appear in their ads... Another fantastic legacy of WorkChoices where the Ad agencies and corporates get paid and the workers get shafted in the end.

You are uninformed. Please find anywhere I have made political comments. You may be confusing me with someone else.

I have only made 400 odd comments over 2 seasons. I am not a daily poster and I do not have a political agenda. I have a Rooster agenda and an agenda to rubbish the vermin where the opportunity presents. Personally, I feel Gillard is a joke and worst PM since 1973. The vote was set up to compare the challenges of supporting either Souffs or Julia. It is called juxtaposition and in this context for humour. No intentional political statement on my behalf.

You can take me at my word or not. Your choice. I don't want a political debate. Somehow I feel you need one though. You'll have to find someone else. Personally, policis bores me - though I stay informed.

that banner is up there with some Julia Gillard gems such as "burn the witch" or "ditch the bitch"

Not quite....although the great Mark Bouris is from Punchbowl.

Not sure where I come from has anything to do with the politics. Def not an old school Unionist ALP supporter or an old school Protectionist Lib supporter.

I think we had the balance about right before work choices which dont really affect my employment directlty... (I support producitvity based wage gains and some protections...its better for society and the economy).....the more people at the bottom earning good money and having better job security...the better it is for me on many levels including financially and it it also makes for a better society. I lived in the US for many years and it sucks even if you are a proffesional)

Lib policy in many areas more directly resembles the US..pay for health, pay for edcuation, pay for this and that...I dont know anyone who would leave here to live there!!

Not to mention the Libs blew the benefits of the last boom thanks to their middle class welfare program which has structurally put our economy into deficit and lack of inbestment in infrastructure. they beleiev that the markets can deliver the big infrastructure projects...in Aus this only creates monoplies due to our small size

The funny thing is the closeness of economic policy by Keating and Howard yet old school Whitlam voters fly the flag for PK and bag JH and vice versa for the old school Libs.

I dont see the benfits of the Chicago school of economics as spruked by Freidamn and Hayek etc (championed by Howard and co) as being the solution as much as socialism is not the solution for a developed country (its suitable in a developing nation)

I think the more Liberal (as in progressive ) nations such as the scandinavians have the better economies and lifestyles (except for the weather) They use their resource wealth to advance the nation...we should be copying them more closely.

I reserve the right to change my opionion dependning on who Im arguing agaisnt!!!Ha.

                                Russell,
That is previous post is what inspired me to put up the vote. Closely look at the time differnece between the two posts - minutes!
I noted the humour as the connection between the lol @ Souffs sign and those signs directed towards the PM. No agenda my end.
From your comment, "There's a few threads where you are banging on about the PM in a childish way ", you seem to believe this has been some long time campaign from me.

Find some real dirt (no falvoured through your views of the world) or retract your comments.
I have no political agenda. Humour rules. Sorry if you are blind to it. I'm also sorry if I hit a sore point for you.

I apologise to the 0.01% of Chookpen subscribers offended by offering political comment on a RL site. Mario should you add this to the rules to keep Fairfax appeased?
Seriously, some people need to grow up!
