  • 9/11.......... 10 years on

Well it has been 10 years since the Attacks on the world trade centre, as with all moments with world history, people remember what they were doing when they happen.

I remember i was at home, watching TV in my room, Channel 10, waiting for Sports tonight, the Saturday night the Roosters had lost the First (and their only) Final against newcastle in newcastle.

Sports tonight going to run news on Graham Murray's sacking. Sandra sully then cuts to footage of a burning World trade centre......Well then you know the rest.

So where were you when it happened, did you know someone in NY or someone in the Towers?

I just got home from work (20 minutes after the second tower was hit) and my sister had been watching it all on TV. She saw the second plane hit. I kept watching until the first tower collapsed. I didn't want to go to bed because I was thinking what else is going on, what other attacks might be about to happen around the place. But finally did go thinking what are we going to be waking up to tomorrow.

As with most I watched it happen live waiting for sports tonight. I think I sat up till about 4:30am, couldn't take my eyes off the screen.

I no longer mourn 9/11 as it has lost all significance as a memorial day. It's now used as an excuse to restrict freedoms, withold information, detain and incarcerate citizens of supposed democracies and invoked where governments want to make decisions that populations would not normally tolerate.

9/11 is now the epitomised symbol to pray upon the fears of populations.

        Chook.

I remember the day and where I was.

Went out for dinner with my then girlfriend. On the way home, we drove up and stopped at the headland/lookout. Got horny and 'got busy', half way through getting jiggy with it, the mobile started ringing. Didn't pick up of course, rang home when we "finished". The old man just said two planes had hit the World Trade Centre building in New York. I thought it was a gee-up! Turned the radio on, both of us speechless. Got home about an hour later, and stayed glued to the tv till the early hours. Looked like a Schwarzeneger movie. The tv footage was incredible.

In a wierd way, 9/11 reminds me of my hot ex-girlfriend.

Oh well not all was bad then. At least one of the three erections stayed up during it.

A very sad time for many people.

Then in 2002 and 2005 came the Bali bombings ... and our people and others murdered, and maimed for life.

Talking about those responsible, why, and where from, for both attacks usually sees one branded as 'racist' and 'Islamophobic' in Australia today.

Saw a program on Australia channel a few day ago which brought an American evangelist and an English muslim activist together to debate religion. Very interesting but for me the most telling point and it made so much sense was the muslim saying if America stays out of muslim countries muslims will stay out of America. I paraphrased this.

This is exactly what happened to me. I heard a rumour we were signing Carlos Smearson/G.G.T. to replace Murray and waited for Sports Tonight. I found out a week later about the Angry Ant.

All that aside, I'm glad that our soldiers are over there killing radical Islamic terrorists. If I had my way, the entire country of Afghanistan would have been nuked in 2001.

The thing is that the radical muslims blame anything the they don't believe on America so the USA is their scapegoat. Sure the Americans aren't blameless but at the end of the day, did they need to do that t prove a point?
I was working and whilst i was having a quiet time at work, I was watching Channel 10 with Sandra Sully...

Always remember we're dealing with a group of people who have been living in near savagery for over a 1000 years. They can't be reasoned with and the only thing they know is violence. If this is about Israel, and we all know it is, then the Arabs and their ilk can go root a camel. I don't always agree with what Israel gets up to but I support 100% the right for the Israel state to be right where it is.

Does it strike anyone else as something close to down right disgusting that the man who sang Peace Train, Cat Stevens or Yusuf as he's known now, supports the Fatwah put on Salman Rushdie for the Satanic Verses?

Just a side note, I'm probably going to get into more shit than Flash Gordon for that.

Essentially, I accept the fact espoused that it was the place that ancient Israel was.

Ok I agree but the inhabitants of that land were essentially arabs. What i dont understand is what affinity do Poles, Russians,Americans etc have with the middle east.
