  • More proof that the morons running America have lost the plot completely!

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...-so?CMP=twt_gu

Hey, America! The GOP is, yet again, looking out for you. This week, Congress took a break from voting to make sure none of your tax dollars will go to all those abortion clinics NPR wants to open in our national parks, to pass a federal law that only the nation that invented Febreze would tolerate.

They have affirmed that pizza is a vegetable. Yes, the tomato sauce on pizza is enough for American politicians to define it and allow it to be served as a vegetable in school lunch programs across the US.

Never mind that tomatoes are a fruit, and commercial tomato sauce has so much sugar in it that not only is it not a vegetable, but it should be classified as a dessert. In fact, it takes a big set of balls to even call school lunch pizza, um, pizza. I think the only chance we have of instilling any sense into these politicians is if we douse it with squirt cheese and serve it in a microwaveable pouch.

    I just laugh out loud.

Why are we so enamoured with this backward, moronic country of idiots? Forget capitalism, this country will literally eat itself to death.

    Chook.

America itself is not the problem. It's the people that are "running" America that is the problem.

Having spent a large amount of time there, in both big cities like Chicago, L.A. Boston and even New York and the smaller places like Cherryvale, Kansas, Terra Haute Indiana and a place called Dillsberg, Illinois (I have a cousin who lives there) and I can tell you that the places are filled with people trying to make a a living in America, regardless of either sides stupidity.

Dare I misquote the English singer Joe Jackson from his song "Right and Wrong"

    "Stop everything
I think I hear the President
The Pied Piper of the TV screen
    Is gonna make it simple
And he's got it all mapped out
    And illustrated with cartoons
Too hard for clever folks to understand
They're more used to words like:
    Ideology
They're not talkin' 'bout right and left
    They're talkin' 'bout
Right and wrong - do you know the difference?"

But, then you have to wonder who the real men are?

I wholeheartedly agree. As a very intelligent woman once said to me, the Democratic/Republican political parties are different heads of the same corporate snake. She went on to say the American political system is corrupt to it's very core and will remain so until that country has a consitutional revolution. It's hard not to believe her.

Quick questoin John, when you have a choice of one more than one is that a true democracy?

        Chook.

Chook, democracy may be corrupted but think of the alternative.

Remember that guy. I wish I had half his courage.

Democracy is the best don't get me wrong, as long as it's a true democracy. But that's not what exists in America imo.

And whilst you may rail against the current parliment here in Oz, it is true democracy in action.

            Chook.

It may well be democracy that's in action, which I fully support, but I suspect that it's the people involved in that democratic process that some people don't like.

And I also suspect that due to that dislike of both sides of the political fence, the next election will make thing worse, not better.

All thanks to Charles Ludwig Dodgson, for helping design the preferential voting system. The sad thing is that one of my favourite books growing up (along with Devil on the Road by Robert Cromier) was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I can't read that now, and I couldn't even enjoy that blonde chick Mia Wasikowska (I had to look that up) in last years movie.

We should take a leaf out Sir Joh's definition of the voting system.
                Did someone say gerrymander?

Those really running America know how to reward themselves.

This will send the OWST crowd balistic...and justifiably so!

I can get the bark, as Barcaldine makes up part of my client base. Your going to be disappointed if you think scones are baked at my house and consumed elsewhere though.
