Under the plans, people would be required to stay at home unless their workplaces, such as factories or construction sites, need them. They would be allowed to go to school or college and leave home for a few other reasons, like buying food or seeking medical attention. But nonessential shops would be closed, people would be urged not to travel, except for business, and pubs and restaurants would only be allowed to serve take out food.

Hardly a full lock down in the UK schools universites to stay open Many would think this defeats the purpose I suppose this virus is now selective in who can catch it and who can spread it

firstly, you're right when you say there is no guarantee of a vaccine or better treatments. that this could be with us for a year, two years or longer is a possibility. you're also right to point out that govt lockdowns have an economic and social cost.

i don't know what the situation will be like in a year's time if there's no end in sight so i'll kick that one down the road and worry about it in a years time. but sure, the longer it goes on with no end in sight the more attractive it would be to just let it rip while taking as many precautions as we can to protect the vulnerable.

but for the foreseeable future i think social distancing, wearing masks when you can't socially distance and regularly washing hands makes sense. there's a new virus around and you've got to play the cards you're dealt.

lockdowns? they're not an issue in aus atm. the only place in aus where they're happening is in victoria and they're relaxing.

yeah, it's tough on kids who can't get out and about but they can still do a lot of stuff but no harm in them being sensible. no one's saying they have to be monks but there's no harm in being more careful than normal.

atm in aus we have dodged a big bullet as far as deaths and community presence of the virus goes - we should try to preserve that.

mental health is important but it's doubtful if the problems associated with restrictions on our normal way of living are worse than the problems created by a virus running rampant (panic, grief over the death of loved ones etc). also, we have the best doctors and nurses in the world and they deserve to be protected from the trauma of working in an overloaded health system.

the economy is also important and there's every chance that keeping deaths down will be good for the economy.

but i guess in a decade's time when it's all over we'll have a better idea of how we should have acted.

Should this be correct this begs the question previously posed. How long are people prepared to live like this. How long will the current rules be kept in place.

How long isn’t the issue. Now is.

How long it will last depends on what we do now.

I think it's all connected Andy. If you look after yourself with good food, quality sleep and exercise, it can only enhance your mental wellbeing and create positive thought patterns.

I can only go by what she told me an hour ago. She lives not far from where you used to live as well.

i feel your pain mate. I usually get a special pomegranate balsamic vinegar from there and a middle eastern spice rub and have been missing them for the past few months. I have friends that have a food stand there. Maybe it was them that did the Rooster dish. Don’t forget to get a cup of fresh OJ just on the right before the food court next time. Delish!

The pate dish was an actual dish/ figurine to make pate in, i remember looking at it a few times walking around and thinking to myself do i need it, finally i asked the woman at the stall how much it was and she said $5 so i bought it. Yes i have notice the OJ stall does mulled wine also, always smells good on a cold morning, loved sampling the olives there but even if the markets re open i don't think they will be giving away samples like that anymore.. I think the place i got the persimmon chutney from was the Torry Hills Orchard stall, they do a lot of cherries products, the persimmon went beautiful with cheese.

If one does it right, you wouldn’t need to go to the food court at all! The free samples are plenty and varied. One can wander from stall to stall for ages filling up on just about anything!

I gave my opinion on all of the questions you asked- i didn't attack you personally and i got a barrage of personal insults back....and then you went on a tangent about Agenda 21 and some economic forum that had nothing to do with what we were talking about...and you continued with the personal insults. To top it off you "invite" me to meet you face to face at Centennial Park at 11am? Really? Im a family man in my 40's, i got a wife & 3 young kids - what good can come from this? I get paid a wage to stop aggressive patrons from doing stupid things! Im not going out of my way to look for any sort physical confrontation- my security license is whats paying my bills this year....plus i'm very peaceful these days!

All of what you said there is the exact reason why I wouldn't want to mess with someone like you. Its the sleepers you need to be the most careful with. Hotheads who go off too early generally have no puff.
Family comes first and as such my concern for this virus is real. Luckily for us, we live in the ACT which I honestly believe to be one of the safest places in the world right now.

  It is a yes from me if the club want to go down that path. One of the many things I love about this club is it attempts to help those with issues or demons offering them chances to resurrect their careers. Roberts can play when his head is right Can the coaching staff get his head right and for a couple of seasons is the question

  What sort of issues & demons does he have? Does he just got off the rails with rambling & paranoia or does he need alcohol or drug counselling? It's amazing the help you can get with modern medicine.
  
  Roberts has checked himself into rehab three times- so he recognises when he needs help. Thats half the battle!! Good for him- i hope it all works out

  I am aware of his issues they are well documented. Why are you asking me when you know very well what they are I invite you to answer that to my face I will be waiting for you this morning 11am at Centennial Park Paddington Gates Alternatively arrange another time convenient to you I’m waiting But you will not have the guts as you are a coward hiding behind your keyboard Like you have in the other thread on away from the game section

I thought you had him on ignore? Surely the transcript will show this, also your original post offering to meet up? What did you want to meet up for? To explain that you dont believe in Covid restrictions or to just share a friendly kekbab?
