  • Just a thought...

Let's say you woke up with a terrible cough, a fever, and severe body aches. Immediately, you rush to the doctor and unfortunately, you’re diagnosed with COVID-19. For the last two weeks, you’ve been unaware that you were infected and you’ve ignored "the rules." You've gotten together with some close friends for pizza, had a few people over, even visited a park and a beach. You figured, “I don’t feel sick. I have the right to keep living my normal life. No one can tell me what to do."
With your diagnosis, you spend the next few days at home on the couch, feeling pretty crappy; but then you’re well again because you’re young, healthy and strong. Lucky you. But your best friend caught it from you during a visit to your house, and because she didn't know she was contagious, she visited her 82-year-old grandfather, who uses oxygen tanks daily to help him breathe because he has COPD and heart failure. Now, he’s dead.
Your co-worker, who has asthma, caught it too, during your little pizza get-together. Now, he’s in the ICU, and he's spread it to a few others in his family, too--but they won't know that for another couple of weeks yet.
The cashier at the restaurant where you picked up the pizza carried the infection home to his wife, who has MS, which makes her immunosuppressed. She’s not as lucky as you, so she’s admitted to the hospital because she’s having trouble breathing. She may need to be placed in a medically-induced coma and intubated; she may not get to say goodbye to her loved ones. She may die surrounded by machines, with no family at her bedside.
All because you couldn't stand the inconvenience of a mask; of staying home; of changing your familiar routines for just a little while. Because you have the right, above all others rights, to continue living your normal life and no one, I mean no one, has the right to tell you what to do.
    #SocialDistancing = It’s not about YOU!
    #WearAMask = It's not about YOU!
    #StayHome = It's not about YOU!
    #GetTested = It's not about YOU!
    #GetVaccinated = It's not about YOU!

Mr Walker. It’s not about YOU.

LOL You cannot be serious about what you post. I suggest you get out and about in society. If you think I’m the only one not wearing masks not social distancing which I may add are not laws where I live. Then you are sadly mistaken. How about you have a go at our players and fans whom are getting selfies arm in arm together on a weekly basis after our games. Why aren’t you castigating Suuaali and Walker or Manu all seen on live tv arm in arm with our supporters all around the ground. No you won’t do it as you are selective in your virtue signalling

Let's not tell him how you came to my place last week, that we went out for lunch on Gladys, sat in the sun and got some vitamin D, came back and had afternoon tea using my Roosters mugs and that I let you use my fancy Sheridan guest hand towels..Yes I am Monica from Friends:

I still have not been able to visit any family as my uncle at Tweed Heads had a stroke last month (he's come out of it just fine though) and my sister in Melbourne has breast cancer so visits from Andy and any other friend who would care to drop by are for the sake of our mental health. Because we had such a good time last weekend catching up, I had a better week work wise and got nominated for a high achiever award simply because I was in a healthy positive frame of mind because Andy took time out of his weekend to visit his immune compromised friend.

Oh and we will be doing this again and again over the next few months as I have a birthday coming up in August and last year I had to spend it alone..I am a Leo and we like attention and fine dining and shiny things. on our birthdays...and Bank Holidays so I don't have to work..

                  • I should leave RT alone to his virtue signalling. I’m thinking there is actually something not quite right with him upstairs.

If he'd made that post 12 months ago, I'd be a bit more understanding.

My boss said he hoped we enjoyed our free lunch on Gladys the other day. He even bought it up in a team meeting as he's up in Qld and they don't get the same vouchers. Our team go into the office freely on Thursdays if they want to and they have started organising work functions again at pubs etc. My niece just came out of lockdown number 4 in Melbourne and went out with her friends for drinks on Friday night.

We need sunshine, fresh air and our friends and loved ones around us. Mental health is more important to me than physical. One does not work without the other..

                      • 12 months ago and still just as important as it is today. Just look at Melbourne and VIC. If you think you are immune to it, you are half the problem. Take precautions and live your lives sure but it’s people like you who snub their noses at it with total disrespect for those who did the right things that muck it all up for the rest. Those who did the right thing enable you to be ignoramuses about it now.

I pray it doesn't rear it’s ugly head for you guys again but I’m sure if it impacted you personally and you got ill, you would never admit to it anyway.

Still waiting for your refute to the post above. While we are it, tell me how what happened last week with the selfish people who drove from VIC to QLD is somehow ok and how you are immune and it in now way affects you.

Enjoy your little get togethers. You sound perfect for each other.

I'll take that as a very big compliment.

RT, you just don't get it do you? I have not seen any family for nearly 2 years now and I work from home and don't go into the office and mix with the others even though I have the option to do so. I chose to work from home and not go out and about unnecessarily. I've postponed my yearly mammograms long enough (both my sisters have breast cancer) and have only started making appointments to get all the yearly medical appointments done in July/August when I will take unpaid time away from work to get them done as I take my health very seriously. I don't drink, smoke and barely eat meat. I've lost nearly 30 kilos since 2017. I cannot tell you the last time I went to a pub. I think it was the Firehouse at North Sydney near my old job for my birthday in 2018 and that was for lunch as I don't go out at night at all. I've only just started going back into supermarkets and the library (I return books through the shute rather than going in unnecessarily) and yesterday I went to the Harris Farm 10 mins walk down the road from me for the first time since it opened over a year ago and I went at 7.30am and I was the only customer in there.

It's been exactly 10 years since I closed my shop in Charing Cross because my mental health suffered after I was assaulted and I said goodbye to Andy and Horrie and all my other friends so I could go and live in Melbourne to stay with my sister for a year until I could learn to leave the house without being scared again. I already know what it's like to be locked down and afraid but it has nothing to do with Covid.

You involved yourself in this. You didn’t have to. If Andy needs a mate to fight his battles then I feel sorry for him.

By the sounds of it, you understand exactly what I have said as you seem to have done the right thing which is why it’s puzzling as to why you want to stir the pot and argue/defend a rebel who thinks it’s cool to oppose and snub their nose in defiance of exactly what you have been working soo hard on.

                            I expected better from you.
