Since then, Sydney’s issues have become a nightmare and rather than support the obvious solutions and remedies that most agree on, they seem to belittle those systems. Sometimes to be a mate, you need to pull them up. I know you say that you can’t get the jab and that’s unfortunate but if you could, I have no doubt you would do the right thing by your friends, keep them safe and get the vaccinated yourself.

As for my new friend. I have two ways of looking at things... I have no friends but I am friends with everyone.
Oh so you want me to be domineering and manipulative? Oh where is your new found friend now when I really need him to read this. So let me get this straight. You want me to publicly berate someone on this forum, call him names, and mock him for something that he said nearly 2 months ago? Yeah, nah, not going to happen as the young folk say. You seem really intent on telling me how I should be treating Andy. So in using your standards, Horrie is a good friend for being double jabbed but Andy is not a good friend for being unvaccinated. Like I said before, I don't judge my friends on the levels of jabs in their bodies. I judge them solely on the amount of David Bowie albums they have in their collections.

Your comments also saying that I would be jabbed also if it weren't for medical advice are way off the mark too. Again that sounds manipulative and domineering, yet your mate accused me of having these traits. This is why the words hypocrite and double standards get thrown around on this place a lot. RT, you know I do really enjoy talking to you but do you actually have any friends you've known for a long time? Let me give you some advice in return as I always like to give gifts rather than receive them. The secret to keeping life long friends is not to judge them for their life choices but to support them without fear or favour. It's not my place to make someone else's life choices for them either. I don't know how many times I've had to state this and yet our latest forum member is accusing me of being domineering and manipulative..I think he's been watching too many episodes of the Bold and the Beautiful. Live and let live is a beautiful way to be.

Apparently according to our latest poster, I am manipulative and domineering. But according to RT, I am not a good friend to Andy because I haven't done any of the following:
Called him a goose, berated him for something he posted back on here in June and stood by and allowed an unjabbed person into my home prior to lockdown. So pretty much the menfolk on here are telling me what to think and feel and how to act and what to do - yeah not domineering or manipulative at all is it?

It's like I wandered into the 1950's in my sleep...

LOL..one of your best Andy...Oh my..The Rebel & The Empath..now there is a good name for a band..or soap opera..I really can't stop laughing..my neighbours will think I've finally lost it..and at this hour too..It's so peaceful in here when you are the only one online. Right. So out of all that, I get that you twist things around on heresay and wouldn’t get vaccinated anyway. To me, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t if you could. I would have thought you to be smarter than that and being the caring soul you are that would put others ahead of yourself . Guess I was wrong.
I’m nit saying you have to get vaccinated. I’m trying to understand why you wouldn’t if you could.

This isn’t a popularity contest in any way at all and yes, I do have lifelong friends and we look after each other by ensuring we have each other’s backs. That includes calling this how we see it right or wrong in order to keep other safe and out of trouble. Sometime you need to be told to pull you head in. It’s what mates do. Question... You say you support you mates no matter their choices. So you at the footy and one of them has a bit too much to drink and wants to drive home. You are supportive of them and their decision though aren’t you?

I never mentiined anything about publicly berating a friend. However you continue to debate this on a public forum in support of such rebellious views. I don’t quite understand which way you are allowed or not allowed to go?

Now, on a more serious note, why were you up sooooo early? Don’t let this public forum stop you from sleeping. At our age, we need all we can get!

Rented so sorry you have been dragged into this . RWB seems very adapt to twisting words to suit her needs. Like me you seem to have asked a question and been attacked because of it. Again my apologies to you for my part

That last line was inspired by a question RR asked that I gave my thoughts on. Credit for that last line should go to him.

Now if I were in your position I would give the poster you are responding to no further air time. It is feeding off this attention. Mind you should you wish yo continue then go for it But you are playing with someone who is coming across as perhaps not being quite right in the head or at the very least must always have the last word. Cut it adrift you will be better for it.

Yes you are right Andy. Covid will come and go but men have been emotionally abusing women for centuries and will continue to do so long after Covid has gone. The term is called gaslighting and it's something I strongly like to bring attention to as lives have been lost by this type of abuse, whether online or in person. Like I said to Horrie, trolls need to be fed on a regular basis to keep their own validation going. If I had a husband who spent his spare time baiting a woman online on a rugby league forum about her personal matters, her medical choices and her choice of friends, I'd think twice about what sort of person he is deep down.

Food for thought for the battering rams on here from a woman's perspective.

No probs mate. If any of us took this stuff personally, it would be a sad sad place indeed. Some here do but that's their choice. A bit like being vaccinated!

Never a good thing any sort of abuse but the sex of those involved should not matter. If you are going to sling it out with someone on here, your gender has nothing to do with it. This is a neutral ground unlike face to face interactions. I generally find the fairer sex to be even stronger than a lot of males on here so lets not play victim based on gender.

Now, you said you wanted to highlight certain issues that have lead to deaths and you wanted to bring it to peoples attention. Why not bring the same attention to Covid which doesn't choose whos lives it takes? More innocent people have died from this than from 'gaslighting'. We have measures in place to limit the spread of this terrible virus either by lockdowns, social distancing, masks and vaccinations. Not sure why anyone would argue against these measures?

                      • Well well well. All these unknown mystery cases popping up in Australia with no known links rising as the vaccination rate does. It appears the vaccinated may well be the spreaders of this new variant.

                        KEY POINTS
                        • About three-fourths of people infected in a Massachusetts Covid-19 outbreak were fully vaccinated, according to new data published Friday by the CDC.
                        • The new data, published in the U.S. agency’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, also found that fully vaccinated people who get infected carry as much of the virus in their nose as unvaccinated people

I've put the ignore function on both of them now thanks Andy. Being asked about my sleeping habits by a married man was the final straw. Ugh..very poor taste.
That way I can still chat to Mighty Rooster and other people of her ilk too. I was starting to feel like I was being interrogated by A Current Affair with a microphone thrust in my face after every post I made with yet another intrusive question coming my way. This is why I never became a rock star..

I think that's the whole point .Being vaccinated somewhat protects you against getting extremely sick , put into ICU and dying .The more vaccinated then the less this should happen. No one ever said the vaccination stopped you spreading it .The large percentage big people in ICU are unvaccinated

the vaccine helps against infection but it doesn't always prevent it and in areas of high vaccination you'd expect a lot of cases to be vaccinated. in a city where everyone was vaccinated the rate of vaccinated people getting covid would obviously be 100%. what the vaccination does do is a very good job at preventing severe cases. it's also good at preventing lockdowns and nrl game postponements.

but the imp piece of info that the piece you quoted is:

'Roughly 97% of new hospitalizations and 99.5% of deaths in the U.S. are among unvaccinated individuals, U.S. health officials repeated this week.'

rwb's inability to get vaccinated aside, for the rest of us it's really a no-brainer
