the vaccine helps against infection but it doesn't always prevent it and in areas of high vaccination you'd expect a lot of cases to be vaccinated. in a city where everyone was vaccinated the rate of vaccinated people getting covid would obviously be 100%. what the vaccination does do is a very good job at preventing severe cases. it's also good at preventing lockdowns and nrl game postponements.

but the imp piece of info that the piece you quoted is:

rwb's inability to get vaccinated aside, for the rest of us it's really a no-brainer

As I said for now I will sit and wait I dont trust the govt and I think they may shift the goal posts as we get close to that 70 percent mark and include children up to 12 in that 70 percent initial target as a starter. Mcgowan in WA has already reserved his right to do as he sees fit even if these blackmail targets are met. Im happy to back my immune system. I am fit and healthy. Now the way I see it me sitting back and waiting to see how this all plays out is a win win.

If I dont like the results of these trials which is what they still are I dont get vaccinated. Wrongly that may rule me out of things in society but I am prepared for that. Lets see no pubs no restaurant hurts the govt as well no alcohol tax no gst. No sporting events woopee dooo No OS travel I couldnt care less. The thing is if I am not happy and there is something amiss with this programme I camnot turn back and unvaccinate But by waiting to see. I can join in at any time and be welcomed with open arms should I see fit.

Anyway time to get outside in the sun and fresh air for some training and exercise

Now if I were in your position I would give the poster you are responding to no further air time. It is feeding off this attention. i've had both jabs but i'm still careful about wearing masks when i'm out shopping etc - mainly cos i don't want to get fined but also cos i don't want to get it cos i don't want to pass it on to anyone. people with good immune systems and people who are fully vaccinated can still get it and pass it on and maybe those people they pass it on to will get very sick.
