I'm amazed at the sudden concern for the plight of the Afghan people from the same people who couldn't care less about even their fellow Americans.

However as you said that's debatable on another thread-if you desire. May be easier just to blame Dan Andrews for everything

No probs. I couldn't resist as I know you were a staunch Biden supporter. But the situation itself, regardless of any finger pointing, is deeply troubling. And it's not just the Afghan people it's the broader implications as well. One thing I agree that Swampy said is there was no "good time" to withdraw from there. How do you defeat terrorists after all? Equally can't let them roam free unchecked....its probably a no win situation.

Im no staunch Biden supporter-but yes i hate Trump. Im more anti-American if anything- their overseas policies are destructive it doesn't matter who is in power.

However personally i think Trump & Biden are the last 2 who should two who should be blamed for this- George W started it and Obama intensified it- they screwed up big time. The mess had to be cleaned up by the next 2 administrations

Closer to home I was warming to Morrison until the whole vaccine screw up...but at the same time im not fan of Albanese who i think is all show and no substance-he wont get my vote. I guess i just hate politicians....but i love the Roosters!!

But we here zilch about ruined businesses, lost jobs, domestic violence, mental health outcomes etc.

This is just Victorian figures. Average of 156 teenagers a week rushed to hospital after self-harming & suffering suicidal ideation between mid-April & the end of May – 88% increase on the same period a year ago.

End these farcical broad-brush lockdowns now.

Thats the thing. The only way forward and to end lockdowns for good is to get vaccinated. I really feel bad for all you in lockdown though and I hope you are doing okay mentally. I've been in semi-lockdown since 01/20 but it has never been as strict as those in Australia. I agree that the lockdowns need to end though.
