Our barley exports to China were killed off by China the other day.

Good news BB! Mike Pompeo confirmed that the US farmers will be supplying the Chinese the barley supply we lost. Nothing like having a great dependable ally like the USA.....just ask the Kurds!!

We could always embrace Communist China and basically be another province of it, it is taking over the world. Even buying up America one farm, one company, one house, one industry at a time.

Trouble with that idea is that Christians and anyone with Christian values get persecuted there.
I don't see any British warships lining up in The South China Sea to defend international rite of passage...nor any French, German, Dutch, Swedish, Indian, Canadian ships either.
I only see Australian and American warships.

Like here, Govts change, and each new govt has its own ideas.
Could be that a future US govt/President might abandon us altogether...think we're too much trouble.

Today China has directed its industries to avoid Australian coal. There go our coal exports to China.

Why are there still Chinese consuls/ambassadors in Australia?

Trouble with Australia is it's too nice, too trusting, too willing to please, goes around signing up to every feel good convention the globe wants. Many in the globe treat us with contempt, much of the rest don't even know we exist, think we're Austria.

Theres remote learning at Universities too- no need for overseas students to be on campus. Why did the Australian Government actually include in Phase 3 of the reopening allowing Chinese students to come back here to study? Isn't it both a health and security risk allowing a supposed enemy into our education system?

Indonesia does not possess nuclear, biological or chemical weapons. As you pointed out they potentially may be an important trading partner in filling some of the gap that China has left. Military wise they of no threat to anyone. Their defence force is used exactly for that - defence. Not that anyone is taking aim at them.

When he started blaming Obama for the virus outbreak you knew he was getting desperate.One can only assume that Trump thought he could bully Xi into taking all the.blame for the virus.. What has he achieved? No one has backed him from Europe, Asia,South America or Africa- no one (besides Dutton who is still going on about the American intelligence report which he hasn't seen-because it actually doesn't exist).

Last week Trump was going on about "Obamagate, the biggest scandal in US politics ever by far"....couldn't explain what it was actually about-and now he has stopped mentioning. He actually has the onset of dementia to go with his narcissism.

So when you say we should get nuclear warheads for self defence i really don't think you understand the devastation it can cause. You just can fire them at any approaching war planes or ships- the nuclear fallout will kill the entire region. This isn't like WW2 where you can just shoot the Luftwaffe out of the sky!

Take Iran for example- the have nuked up big time after watching a weapons-less of mass destruction Iraq get invaded. Now if Iraq had an arsenal of nuclear weapons it wouldn't be to use them on the approaching American marines. What kill a few thousand US soldiers and kill all of Baghdad and most of Iraq at the same time? The Iranians have nearly all there nuclear weapons aimed at Israel- and the numbers are vast. They know its enough to stop the USA in its tracks. Just like North Korea has the majority of its nukes aimed at Japan and as well as South Korea- its a deterrent to keep the USA out. When you consider the Nth Koreans share a border with China and Russia not even Trump is stupid enough to try anything against the North Koreans. Remember the "Little Rocket Man" barbs and how the "USA will unleash hell and fury and wipe North Korea off the map"?. Well Kim Jung is still firing those missiles....and still stockpiling nuclear weapons-more than ever. He called Trumps bluff.

So what im saying BB is nuclear weapons aren't the answer for Australia!

Trump said "Hell and fury" if "little rocket man" fired missiles at the US or one of its allies...Guam that bad haircut boy seemed to mention, along with Australia ...and Japan. Reckons he has missiles that can reach Australia.

I know exactly what nukes do, Hiroshima. Every year when it has its "ringing the bell" ceremony the mayor or somebody else etc complains about what happened.
What did they think was going to happen to them, given the evil horrors Japan inflicted on the world.
Families of Aussie POWs being tortured to death in the snow etc in Japan etc might have even been cheering when Japan was nuked and the war ended.

Would have been nice if Pompeo knew about the Victorian/Chinese initiative before he commented on it. Of course it was just another case of the USA being a bully and the whole world now doesn't take too much notice of them. It was good that the US Ambassador did set the record straight about Pompeo's comments.....

Incidentally did anyone on The Outsiders ask why Trump fired the Inspector General Steve Linick who was investigating corruption involving Pompeo? I mean it was the 4th Inspector General to get fired in 4 weeks- this one at Pompeo's request. The Inspector Generals office is a independent watchdog that looks into political corruption.
